West Coast with all the ball, but they just can’t kick it straight enough. It’s a Bonnie Tyler special, the game’s holding out for a hero.

Five minutes to go, and you’d think the next goal wins it.

Not far away from the NRL Grand Final. Cronk will play through his shoulder injury, coming from the emergencies bench for Sydney to take his usual halfback spot, with Momirovski dropping out after the positional reshuffle.

Big moment just before half-time, 10 minute sin bin for Melbourne five-eighth Cameron Munster for a professional foul.
Sydney kick the penalty goal to go to 14-0.

18-6, Melbourne on the board with an intercept try to Josh Addo-Carr. There’s enough time left for the comeback if they have it in them.

Penalty goal takes it to 21-6. This will almost certainly be the final score, as the Sydney Roosters claim their 14th Australian rugby league championship.

Luke Keary gets the Clive Churchill Medal for man of the match, basically playing for two people with Cronk dogged by what was apparently a fractured shoulderblade.

Some brief news before Trade Week (aka Nothing happens until the final day trade period)
Tom Lynch (Suns) has signed with Richmond, as restricted free agent (meaning the Suns can match whatever offer the Tigers made if they want to keep him)
Luke Dalhaus (Bulldogs) has signed with Geelong as a restricted free agent.
& Scott Lycett (Eagles) has signed with Port Adelaide.. same deal as above.
In other news Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson has extended his contract with the Hawks until the end of 2022, he is already Hawthorn’s most successful coach in terms of Premiership wins, and adds to his tally of longest stint as Hawthorn coach. So at the end of 2022 (unless something disastrous happens) he would of coached 18 seasons with the Hawks alone. And Sam Mitchell looks likely to return to Hawthorn as an assistant coach.
Also a thing I found funny: Carlton are throwing everything to lure Dylan Shiel from the Giants to their club.. private jet, massive contract, some supposedly under the table Chris Judd like arrangement (allegedly) .. meanwhile Hawthorn in their attempt to lure the young gun are just... We are Hawthorn... you know what we got.
