TL;DR Match Listing:
Apollo Crews v Johnny Gargano
Dana Brooke and Emma v Billie Kay and Peyton Royce
Tyler Breeze v Tommaso Ciampa
DUSTY RHODES TAG TEAM CLASSIC QUARTER FINAL IV: NXT Champion Finn Balor and Samoa Joe v Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady
---
It's Wednesday, and that means only ONE thing. Time for more NXT, as always straight from the regular home base of Full Sail University. We are one week away from another Takeover, and this will be the last week for the men and women of the beloved yellow brand to get that all important winning momentum into the big special.
Tonight's main event will be the fourth quarter final of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament between the all-star pairing of NXT Champion Finn Balor and Samoa Joe, and the ultra fan favourite team of Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady. Who'd have called that match pairing a year or two ago, especially under the WWE umbrella? Anyways, the winner of this one advances to a semi-final bout against Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder at Takeover: Respect, with the winner of that fighting the winner of the other semi, Jason Jordan and Chad Gable or Baron Corbin and Rhyno, later that night to claim that winning ticket to the pay windah. Can Balor and Joe keep their run going strong into next week, or can The Realest Guys In The Room use their team experience to overcome their more fancied opponents?
In women's tag team competition, it's a case of the odd American out when Dana Brooke teams up with Emma against the all-Australian pairing of Billie Kay and Peyton Royce. Last week, the egotistical duo had harsh words for new NXT recruit Asuka... Only for The World Famous one to turn back with a sinister smile, hinting that she may have found her first victims. Can Kay and Royce capitalise on their possible lack of focus and pull off the upset?
And finally, in preparation for their bout at Takeover: Respect, Apollo Crews and Tyler Breeze are both in singles competition against Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa respectively. Can the two indy talents make up for their elimination from the Dusty and claim big singles wins? Or will Crews and Breeze go into Takeover on a winning note?
All that, and the final hype for the historic women's main event between Bayley and Sasha Banks, TONIGHT on NXT!
