- Asuka VS Cameron was Asuka’s 1st match & opener since October 21, Cameron’s 1st NXT opener of 2015, her 1st match on NXT in 2015, & her 1st match overall since losing to Nikki Bella on Smackdown on April 30
- Bull Dempsey VS Angelo Dawkins was Dempsey’s 1st match since October 14, his 1st win since defeating Elias Samson on August 26, Dawkins’ 1st match since October 14, & his 1st singles match since losing to Baron Corbin on June 10
- Eva Marie VS Marley was Eva’s 1st match since defeating Carmella by Count Out on September 23, Marley’s NXT debut, the 3rd week in a row that NXT had 2 Diva’s Matches, & the 200th Diva’s Match in WWE & NXT in 2015 on TV & Pay-Per-View

So an interesting mix on this show. I like Asuka destroying people, but there were clearly moments of wait what's next all through that match. Cameron is still hot though.
All the backstage stuff was good tonight, minus the bad guy apologizing for running into Tom.
Loved the new big match set up with the spotlight. Solid hard hitting match, but lacked bad blood between them. Let's see what feuds set up from here. A Fatal 4 Way?

That Cameron/Asuka match was pretty kickass for about a minute and some,, that slap/armbar spot was awesome and Cameron sold it perfectly when she shot her that awestruck "I'm trapped in a cage with a lion" look, the rest of it was alright but that was a really great beginning.
So sad how I completely forgot about the Ascension, Gable and Jordan gave me ample time to scratch my head and think of who the best team of NXT was and goddamnit if it isn't the Ascension. Did they plant the seeds for a WGTT reunion? Would they not be perfect for NXT? Or would they just get in Gable & Jordan's way? I like their characters, I like how they're allowed to kind of act like cocky heels and get away with it because they're just young guys being treated like rock stars and riding this wave of overnight success.
That main event was the best I think that Finn's looked in NXT to date. He definitely has a killer instinct to him now that he didn't before, I'm not currently the biggest fan of Apollo for the same reasons I'd beeh sour on Balor for a long time in that Balor was the resident handsome, good at everything, kind of plain guy who had a lot of flash but didn't seem to have much substance to him, and now here comes Apollo Crews who is pushes that "perfect specimen" schtick even further. He's bigger than Finn, can match speed, jump higher, everyone loves him and Finn came off very conscious of that.
I don't know how to feel about Joe's turn at the end, I hope this wasn't some flip out over Joe getting booed against Breeze because that was more about Breeze than it was a rejection of Joe, but the turn was well done anyways and arguably isn't even really a turn yet, as Joe has something of a right to feel like he's been dicked around for not getting a title shot after killing everyone in sight for so long. NXT's main event scene is shaping up pretty well between Corbin, Crews, Finn and Joe. I'm also glad that Corbin seems to fit in that role now because I've always liked him.

Watching Eva Marie wrestle makes me wish food poisoning finished me off a few years back. She's the only thing about NXT that I truly dislike. That and whathisface salivating over her on commentary. This whole thing is smarkbait, isn't it? They are trolling us with this red turd, aren't they? There can't be any other reason for presenting her like female succotash. They really can't be thinking that she is any good. |

I only pray that these "Smart" fans come up with some clever Vinny-related chants towards Cameron. |

Man, Cameron wasn't too bad against Asuka. Granted, it takes two to tango, but still, I expected worse.
Oh, and Dawson & Wilder are great heels. Old fashioned as hell, I love it.
Oh, and the WGTT name-drop was hilarious, as was "We can't wrestle ourselves!"

If you have a clear favorite wrestler, sure, cheer for them, but don't LEAVE after they wrestle, not only does it show you don't care but it shows you clearly didn't pay to see this show... just all around F***ing toxic. |
