TL;DR Match Listings:
Asuka v Cameron
Bull Dempsey v Angelo Dawkins
Eva Marie v Marley
NXT Championship Match: Finn Balor (c) v Apollo Crews
That's right, it's Wednesday again and it's a fresh new cycle of tapings beginning this week on NXT, presented as always from Full Sail University.
The argument could be made that it's looking to be a one match show, but what a match that could be as the NXT Championship is up for grabsies with Finn Balor defending the gold against undefeated #1 Contender Apollo Crews. Crews won the shot after winning a Battle Royal a few weeks ago and is riding a wave of momentum, but so is Balor, who is currently on a six-month long televised undefeated streak that has gotten him the NXT Championship belt and the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic trophy along the way. These are two world-class talents at the top of their game, fighting for the big prize. Will Crews make it look too easy and pick up his first taste of NXT gold? Or will Balor continue his amazing run of form? Find out tonight.
In women's action, we have the return of two of the main roster's most critiqued women... although one is just returning from a French vacation with the Total Divas cast. Yep, Eva Marie is back and she will take on the debuting Marley, a regular from the last few months of Florida house shows. Can the New Jersey newcomer stop the red tide of momentum? Or can Eva Marie get one step closer to a shot at Bayley's NXT Women's Championship?
The other returnee is Cameron, making her first appearance ever in the Full Sail arena and her first TV match appearance overall in over six months. Her task however will be a lot tougher as she takes on the dangerous and unhinged Asuka. Can the World Famous combatant claim her first main roster scalp? Or will it be "On'nanoko no sayōnara" for her?
Finally in singles competition, it will be Bull Dempsey against Angelo Dawkins. Both of these guys are looking to get a win on the board for once, with Dempsey's "Bull-Fit" program not getting him as many wins as he'd hoped for, and Dawkins trying his hand at singles once more after some recent struggles in the tag team division alongside Sawyer Fulton.
All that, and maybe some other things, TONIGHT on NXT!
