Isn't the idea of finishers in general in a worked sport like professional wrestling something that challenges the very idea of suspension of disbelief? For instance, since everyone basically *has* a finisher, doesn't it make the opponent who receives one look like a dumbass for not studying his or her opponent, so that when a finisher is attempted, you should avoid it? If you know it's going to be used at some point in a match yet you do nothing to avoid it, you look like a moron for having not expected it. This thread reads like we're splitting hairs about who can suspend their disbelief the most (or the less) here over one move used by a woman against other women in a women's division. But finisher reversals happen all the time.

The other option is a bear hug. I like the B2B.

But finisher reversals happen all the time. And successfully applied finishers happen even more so. I still think it's logical enough. It's like the all star player being double covered in a regular sport but they still score. Just because you know what he's going to try and put you away with doesn't mean you'll be able to defend it. Like I'm sure boxers knew Tyson would try to KO them with an uppercut but still couldn't stop it.

Sounds less like anything anyone says won't change your mind and this is useless back and forth banter

One of my five favorite moves in all of wrestling. Not necessarily hers alone, but it's freaking wrestling. I love it. (Maybe not as a finisher, but as a secondary finisher where you DO get pins in big matches with it when the match story is told right.) But the move itself is one of the best in wrestling history.

I kind of like the idea of almost any move being able to finish the match.
Despite what the 90s conditioned us to think, the finisher shouldn't be "Instant Death, no matter what", it should be a FINISHER. A wrestler's Favorite Move that they break out when the opponent is too weak to resist.

Almost all the finishers in the WWE are terrible anyway so I don't really care.

I like the move too but, it's not a finisher for me (Unless it's someone huge doing it) and Bayley's looks weak and shit. If Big E did it as a finisher, I could buy it. Hell, Swagger's looked good so I could buy his putting someone away for the 3 count and he's a huge dude. But Bayley's look weak, even more so when she weights about as much as a cloud.

Cena never hits the AA after the five knuckle shuffle, Orton never hits the RKO after flailing around on the mat, Sheamus misses the brogue kick when he punches his stomach... etc.

I like it, myself. I am curious if she can hit it on Nia. That would be a nice factor if/when they ever feud. Bayley goes for yhe B2B, Nia doesn't budge, gives Bayley that smile of hers and gives her a Bane style backbreaker.

I'm all for simplifying finishers.
