Those "I'm cleaning my friends list. If you see this, you're ok" posts. The last time I saw one of those posts, the person who posted it did unfriend me not too long after the post appeared.
Clickbait posts. A recent example of one I saw (it was a sponsored ad) implied that The Great Khali had been cut by the WWE because he killed someone (never mind the incident occurred when he was in training several years prior to being signed by the WWE).

Religion and politics is fine in moderation. If it's every post or that insane birther crap or this country needs Jesus then it needs to go. I had a guy I went to school with that kept posting these conspiracy Obama is a secret Muslim stuff and I would post the Snopes article. It was always met with "liberal propaganda", so I deleted him.

I have two cousins who are health nuts. One is Ryback-y, and keeps sharing stupid-ass planking and Crossfit exercises that'll blow out your knees if you actually followed them to the letter. The other shares recipes that'd cost like $100 to make two servings.

Politics and religion are where the idea of social media tends to fall apart, in my opinion. Even ignoring the fact that both subjects are conversational poison in almost any context, but giving everybody a chance to voice their opinions just means that things like "Obama is ____ and is out to destroy us" gains a lot more traction than it otherwise would.

I've never been fond of vague, yet melodramatic personal posts.
"Really found out who my real friends are.." is not an effective insight in to what's going on with your life; its a baffling uncomfortable enigma made all the more frustrating when any attempts to ask what the hell is going on are met with "don't want to talk about it right now."
Well why did you essentially post the opening sentence to a 13 year old's diary entry if you don't want to talk about it? Its like walking into a room of your friends, loudly announcing "All the deception against me has been revealed", and then walking off without explanation. If some bit of drama is doing on in your life and you have to exclaim about it without providing context, at least throw in some accompanying music video that "sums up how I feel" so we can get a good song out of it.

Please say a prayer for my family, God knows all about it.... Obvious attention seeking tactic and it just irritates the f*** outta me.... Effing A, dude. I got some kid that prays for material success on like college tests and shit. Assuming there is a God and he knows and cares about the Internet, there's like sick people, destitute people, people sweating serious emotional drama, etc. How about you study?

But....I like taking selfies!!! I take good selfies!! But yeah, I don't take a lot of selfies. Especially when a lot of my friends take them nonstop. It's like, "Jeez. We get it already, take a picture of something else!" Also, the political and religious crap I see all the time on FB as well. I'm getting to the point where I'm hiding most of the stuff I see from friends, because THAT'S ALL THEY POST.

You're not some shallow woman that does 839 identical duck lip poses in different outfits. You're creating. I don't hate a unique selfie.

Anything begging for attention. "I feel like I need to lose weight" Posted next to a photo of person wearing a bikini and looking perfectly slim. Or posts that brag about doing something good fishing for likes. "Everyone was ignoring this homeless man today until I bought him a 3 course meal and sat with him while he ate it. He cried when he thanked me and hears a sneaky photo I took of said homeless man without his permission or knowledge as proof that this happened. Please like this post because I want attention." I LOATHE this. Like tons of people do this, both in your personal circle and site posters trying to get 6 digit likes. And it's SO stupid. It's the opposite of charity. You're not doing this to do the right thing. You're bastardizing it for personal gain and/or to stroke your ego. It's cheesy, it's ugly, it's cheap, and it needs to stop. If you're gonna help someone, great. But don't belittle them by doing it from behind a phone. It could be more damaging to that homeless person's psyche than leaving them alone. The politics posts I see/see liked by some of my friends really makes me question their intelligence, or see them as bigoted. Honestly, the Syria/Muslims/Trump topic has me avoiding FB altogether. I mainly just hate that my news feed in FB is a total shell of it's former self. When I joined Facebook it was in it's last few years as a college-centric site. Then teens and parents and grandparents and celebrities and businesses and reposters came on. And now, it's just a big watered-down reposter site. It's no longer people's random thoughts/events/reviews of their day that you would usually see circa 06-09/10. Whenever it turned. Now it's just a shuffling of pictures and memes and videos and texts pics. And it's all the same stuff circulating. It's like a shitty version of Tumblr. Nothing is funny and it just comes along and gets circulated at the same time. You see one new, interesting thing and then it comes up again and again and again like 60 times in the next week. You're pretty much logging on to look at 9gag's feed of material that was funny and new a month before they stole it. Also, those pictures with an old person that has a sign that says "I'm 105! How many likes can I get?" Are they really on Facebook? Do they really care about likes? I'm always sure it's some nursing home staffer who is thirsty for likes because they think that likes are cool. Have these people not gotten past the gimmick of likes? Like, they're a thumb emoji on a website. It's not that deep.

Good for the sake of good is dead. It's fifty shades of clickbait at this point.
People are retards.
People help people all the time, but you'll never know about it, because they don't advertise. Nor should you. Good ain't about getting "likes," it's about being unsung as you try and shift the balance.

"A real man..." when it pertains to female body type.
Lemme stop ya right there. A real man will meet a woman he finds interesting and attractive and, if things go well, he'll do everything and then some to meet her needs. Why? Because different people like different shit. I date thin or athletic girls because that's what I dig on, I liked it when I was a fat guy, I like it as a thin, kinda atletic guy. My homie though? He loves big girls and that's dope. I'm happy for him, I'm happy for the girls he dates because everyone deserves to meet someone they can have that with. It's not a matter of being a "real man," it's a matter of personal attraction.

A lot of my FB friends are older and somewhat naïve. A lot of the crap has cleared up though as I think they learned what to look out for along the way.
Recently I started to pay attention to the "see less from this person" option and it has really worked well and I've cut out stuff that used to bug the hell out of me.

The thing that baffles me most about Facebook, and to a somewhat lesser extent, Twitter, is that people post the most racist, sexist, homophobic, or otherwise vile things with their real names attached without a second thought.

The thing that baffles me most about Facebook, and to a somewhat lesser extent, Twitter, is that people post the most racist, sexist, homophobic, or otherwise vile things with their real names attached without a second thought. because they know that even if multiple people report them, the chances of there being any reprecussions are very slim. Twitter (and Facebook even moreso) takes forever to actually deal with that stuff. One of the most vile people on the entire internet got suspended from Twitter and reinstated at least 5 times before he was actually banned for good. (he's still ban-evading)
