Eh, not enough screen time to be a local man. Kane and Big Show reached that status because they were involved in the main event and major storylines almost every week, and interfering in said matches constantly. And just being really lousy in the ring.
Jericho, at worst, is a midcard nostalgia trip gone horribly wrong.

I'm not sure if that's what he is going for though. I can only assume that's what it is. Jericho is way too smart to be this lame right now.

The internet used to love Jericho. I noticed things got hostile when he did that run where he trolled the audience by refusing to cut a promo upon return. That whole gimmick was stupidly predictable.
Everyone got it on the first week, and it went on for like, six.
His defense of the cryptic scary promos is obnoxious as well. These cool promos with somewhat frightening imagery and everyone knew it was him except for the usual suspects that'll do the defend WWE gimmick no matter what.
"It's Jericho."
"No! But look at the creepy girl! Maybe it's an Undertaker promo."
"It's not. It's Jericho."
"No way, WWE's more clever than that! It'll be someone like Sting!"
"No. Stop it. It's Jericho."
"You're just not giving it a chance."
"Because it's Jericho."
Then it turns out to indeed be Jericho.
"See?"
"Hah! Jericho trolled you, haha!"

HAHAHAHA!!!! No. People are just holding grudges at Jericho because of Bill DeMott and CM Punk, so now all of a sudden nothing he does on the mic or in the ring is right. The Local Men is just a stupid meme anyway. Guess most people don't see it that way oh grand Wizard of Wisdom. My likes say otherwise Butters. I've really dislike him since the creepy vignette return. He shows up and it's promptly followed by a bunch of "who cares" then he disappears. Repeat the cycle again in 6 to 8 months.
And It's time to put pants on again. He has never looked right in trunks.

That was the start of it, but I think it really ramped up when it became apparent that ROH stars and top indy guys actually had a chance at major WWE success, making fans more eager to usher out the old guard (not just Jericho, pretty much anyone that became a star in 1999 or before.) |

He's in my top 5 fave wrasslerz ever but he's getting "internet hate" because he's been terrible lately. For a guy who prides himself on re invention and so on he really needs to change things up. I actually felt kinda bad for him when he said rooty tooty booty and then pulled the mic away and looked at the crowd to get the chant and like 20 people were doing it. He's not on the Kane/Show level though.
He needs to embrace his veteran status. When HBK got old he did his whole "goofy out of touch old guy" thing. Jericho still acts like he's 25.
