I was rooting for Carolina, but this made me laugh:

He should have just said "yeah, I got rinsed. No excuses. I'll learn from it, and come back stronger".

11 touchdowns and 18 interceptions for Peyton Manning this season if you combine regular season and playoffs.
Who woulda thunk that would be the TD-INT ratio for a SB champ?

Eli Manning explained that his stone cold face was him thinking about clock management and whether the Broncos would go for 2 or the typical PAT. And the camera catching him at that awkward moment without him realizing it.
Oh Eli. You are a cinnamon roll too good for this world. Too pure.

Considering the clock management foolishness the Giants went through this year, I'm surprised he didn't go into convulsions.

I mean.....good on him for admitting it. He's still a front running douche, though In all fairness, that whole "You show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser" bit was a Vince Lombardi quote. Nowhere near as defensible is him saying that he didn't go for that fumble out of fear of injury, but that's another story for another time.

But if that's the hill he chooses to die on, then that simply isn't enough

For a guy who relies so much on the media in building his aura and legacy when things are going well, he sure has no use for them when things aren't. You can't pine for the spotlight and then shy away from it when things don't go in your favor.

Lowest passer ratings by a Super Bowl-winning QB: - Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers, SB40: 22.6
- John Elway, Broncos, SB32: 51.9
- Earl Morrall, Cowboys, SB5, 54.0
- Peyton Manning, Broncos, SB50: 56.6
- Joe Theismann, Redskins, SB17: 75.1
For comparison, here are the passer ratings for Super Bowl-winning QBs who are game managers: - Jim McMahon, Bears, SB20: 104.2
- Trent Dilfer, Ravens, SB35: 80.9
- Brad Johnson, Bucs, SB37: 79.9

I forgot how putrid Roethlisberger was in that Super Bowl.

For comparison, Trent Dilfer (game manager) had an 80.9 passer rating in the Ravens' SB35 win. So that gives us two of the lowest rated and the two oldest QBs to win. What other ancient QB can we get to the title?

As I said Monday, if Denver had even a halfway-decent quarterback, with the way their defense was playing and with the way Carolina wasn't playing, the Broncos would have turned that game into a laugher. And when I say "halfway-decent", I mean find me a McCown, put them under center in Super Bowl 50, and the Broncos win going away.

I forgot how putrid Roethlisberger was in that Super Bowl. Well, the Steelers supposedly got help from the refs to make sure that Bettis goes into the sunset with a Super Bowl win. Speaking of which, anyone get the feeling that SB50 was almost similar to SB40?

With Osweiler at the helm the AFC Championship Game would have been over before the end of the 1st half, with how soft New England's coverage was. And yeah, the Broncos would have ran away with the Super Bowl with Osweiler at QB.

Speaking of which, anyone get the feeling that SB50 was almost similar to SB40? With certain plays....hell yes (that non-overturn of that obvious completed catch, a bit of offsides on that missed field goal and several pass interference no-calls being key), but Carolina still had plenty of chances to win that game and they just didn't convert.

Remember when Andy Dalton made a tackle, broke his thumb, pretty much killed Cincy's SB chances?
He basically did what we wanted Newton to do and quite frankly he screwed his team.
