I didn't like the slut-shaming of Lana knowing it was made in retribution for the crime of getting married. Other than that, it was entertaining. I don't think it was slut shaming. But yeh,it was probably a petty shot at the marriage/Rusev.

WWE just sent their hottest act against one of their arguable best promo guys = RUB Uso's getting to leech off the Florida hometown pop taking out New Day = RUB So how aren't they building their new stars exactly?? The "rub" hasn't worked in ages man. That's also the excuse people say everytime they bring back a nostalgia act and have them go over someone full time, but really they've been doing that for YEARS now and nothings ever come of it. I mean, the Rock couldn't get his family over at last year's Rumble. Shit don't work anymore. You just contradicted yourself considering you said New Day out promo'd him, which I'd agree with, and I personally loved the whole segment. Rocks coming back to help. He's one of Hollywoods biggest stars FFS. He doesnt have to. Dont blame the lack of new stars on him, blame the company. Furthermore, The Rock and New Day probably had the time of their lives backstage after the segment laughing about it. So many on here pick apart a FUN moment in WWE , perhaps because such uninhibited spontaneity is now a rare thing.

I loved it. Big Show, Miz and Rusev were brilliant. Best Rock segment in at least 10 years.

Loved The Big Show part. Really disliked the Lana part, and kind of checked out thereafter. Woke up when New Day came out and mostly enjoyed their exchange.
It's like most things with The Rock. Something really really good. Something cringy. But entertaining nonetheless.

So many on here pick apart a FUN moment in WWE , perhaps because such uninhibited spontaneity is now a rare thing. The New Day didn't get MORE over because of their interaction with the Rock. They are over because they're being allowed to showcase their fun/funny/different personality. They could have cut a promo on an upright broom with a bucket for a head and it would have been just as entertaining. And I 100% agree with you. The Rock isn't to blame for not having new stars. Never said he was. I doubt it was his idea to have Roman win the Rumble, he was just along for the ride, I mean his expression when the crowd boo'd roman said it all. Its definitely WWE's fault for the lack of new stars, but my point was the fact that they keep relying on past stars instead of investing heavily in new stars is the problem and that "the rub" hasn't worked in WWE in ages - this was no exception. In fact, the Rock is probably just like, "I'm happy to be out here and entertain, I'm don't want to worry about politics and the future of the company - I've got other shit to do man. Just let me have some fun out there." Which, again, I totally support, but its on WWE to build new stars and what happened last night between the Rock shitting on everyone he walked by and HHH/Vince/Steph with the title, this wasn't anything close to doing that.

I channel surfed on to Raw for a few moments last night, and basically saw a full ten seconds of an uncomfortable zoom-in of the Rock's face as he stood in profile and breathed heavily.
It was the best "I have no context for this, what the hell is even happening" moment I've had seeing moments of Raw since I flicked on it one night and saw Big Show rolling around the ground clutching his leg and going "RAAARGH! AAAARGH!" while Kane stood nearby yelling "SHOW! SHOOOOOOOW!!!".

The Rock will do any drug necessary to entertain us.
Oh, also: THIS IS WHY THE BIG SHOW STILL WORKS, WWE. He's funny - he can do the damn schtick when he needs to - he's got character.
Let him do those things and the "retire" chants will cease.

loved the big show part as the rock acts completely oblivious to the notion that that bad call in the rumble "ruined" the big show's life forever the whole time.

As soon as he entered the building it was off the charts, from backstage to the ring, to him calling out those fans dressed up, to New Day
I love how New Day played off of him. "THAT'S NOT A THING! DON'T MAKE IT A THING!"
Rock in small doses after a long time, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. And New Day and Rock confrontation lived up to my expectations

One of my all-time favorites, I can't believe Gene kept a straight face during that interview. I could never keep a straight face during that, or pretty much any 80's Hogan promo

He was just marking out, like most of us do when we get to a live event. Not to mention being apart of it.
Accusations of him taking drugs such as cocaine are incredibly stupid, imo. Look at the guys instagram even once and you can see how much natural drive/energy he has every day.

The guy is up doing weights/working out early every day, before then going on to work on whatever other project he is on at the time. He leaves the bare minimum time to be idle, a common trait among many of the world's most successful people. You don't become the Rock by sleeping 12 hours and sitting your ass on the sofa for the other half of it. The guy is just incredibly driven and motivated to achieve his goals.

Him insulting Big Show made me really wish he would do one more heel run. Dammit, I think he'd be amazing at it, and would easily be able to put over a young star. If he was to do it, now would be the time. Roman makes it out of =FastLane the number one contender. The Authority immediately starts trying to beat Roman out of the main event. Ambrose Rock and Usos even up the odds on the Road to Wrestlemania. Rock turns on Roman and costs him the match. The next night, he cuts a promo that Roman just ain't ready to beat a legend, a first ballot hall of gamer like The Game. He would only dishonor the legacy of the family. Roman feuds with Rock. Ambrose chases the title. The Usos tangle with the League of Nations. They all blow off at Summer Slam.

I love the Rock, always will, but I've become far more of a fan of the dude outside of wrestling at this point. Having now watched the thing from last night, the segment is pretty indicative as to why. When he's in Rock character now, it's paint by numbers of how he's going to act, what he's going to say. You may not know the exact silly phrasing, but you can pinpoint exactly when it's coming, how it's going to go.
I felt the same during Austin's whole sheriff deal etc. Rock's just doing 'Greatest Hits' when he appears at this point.
And before anyone says anything: Obviously the majority loves it, and is entertained by that and etc. I'm not arguing that, and it'd be foolish to to otherwise.
I'm merely saying for me, I don't need to see Rock in wrestling playing that character any more. I'm still a HUGE fan of the guy, and always likely will be. But he's moved on to bigger and better things, and the things he's doing when he comes back I saw and loved fifteen years ago. I don't really need to see him doing that character again.

I'm not saying the Rock's on anything - I think the whole "coke high" thing was just a hyperbolic joke about his energy, but another common trait amongst many of the world's most successful athletes and entertainers is drug use. So I don't think the Rock was on anything other than normal Dwayne Johnson goofiness, but that argument you're making falls out pretty quick.
