Shit, I just remembered Mandrews is still in TNA Yeah he is one of my top young prospects in UK wrestling right now, he is too good for TNA and it is unfortunate he is being held down by them when these two MAJOR tournaments that he would be perfect for happen later this year. The man is an incredible talent and has exceptional and graceful highflying, with incredible chain wrestling and grappling. Same goes for Trevor Lee and Andew Everett as well, with them both also being in TNA. Especially Lee. Like Andrews, he is too good for TNA and either/both of these tournaments would have been perfect for him

New Japan reviving the J-Cup and confirming the participation of many of Japan's biggest promotions, including Dragon Gate, along with the usual New Japan international partners in ROH and CMLL is a direct attack on this.
I think you can forget about ever seeing Lyger ever again. New Japan probably wanted to start a business relation with WWE and WWE... stole Shinsuke Nakamura.
I'd be pissed too.
Perhaps WWE can get their Japanese representative from DDT, Michinoku Pro or the rotting corpse of All Japan. Or they can put Ultimo Dragon in, I'd love that.

The only thing that Trips currently has is that Gabe/Evolve relationship and Regal has been known to go to PWG shows and pass along their DVDs in the past. But even then most of the talent scouted by Regal at pwg is working dates for NJPW With ZSJ out of any commitments in Japan and him being a large part of evolve (plus being mentioned in the WWE.com article a few months back) makes him a major likely pickup for the GCS. Trips at the very least has EVOLVE to pick up guys from the states. Anyone's guess as to what he does for Japanese talent now outside of one's contracted by wwe. If I was him I would take Nakamuras advice and send Ibushi an email right away for a short term GCS contract only. He said he left is still open to doing dates for NJPW so worst case is NJPW secure him for SJC before Trips gets him for it

They can't possibly mess this up right?

More hyped than Mojo for this They can't possibly mess this up right? Since it sounds like a Triple H project, then probably not until the followup.

Now you've got me looking through the rosters of New Japan, NOAH, ROH, CMLL, etc. trying to find out which talents may not be able to be in this thing now. Seems like Japan is kind of out of the question now except for a few scattered free agents like Kota Ibushi. That said, there's still a hell of a lot of great talents who aren't tied down to those promotions or are just freelancers in general, as well as other promotions they could scout from like CHIKARA or EVOLVE. Hell, depending on the contract status of guys like Trevor Lee, Mark Andrews and Andrew Everett, they could try and get those guys the hell of out of TNA before all hope is lost for them.

I wonder, how can NJPW have an relationship with WWE and ROH? I know it's not impossible but it's damn sure unlikely. This seems like simple gamesmanship.

New Japan necromancers keep it from turning to dust. Marufuji was there to represent NOAH at the J-Cup announcement.

Didn't WWE manage to get Lyger in the first place because part of Lyger's contract with New Japan includes that he works as his own booking agent for international dates instead of going through New Japan? If so, then WWE might still be able to get Lyger for the GCS.

Ophidian and Player Dos/Stupified are way to obvious of picks that it'll be disappointing if they aren't on here

Hence why uno returned to the US these past few months on a work visa but not with uno. Love stupified an amazing talent and would be a perfect fit for it

Sooo....is this HHH's doing? Developmental/performance center, wrestling centric vs entertainment centric, different approach completely than WWE creative usually goes for. I don't keep up very much but I think I remember him being the HMFIC of the performance center (is it development center or performance center I forget?)

I'd assume so since he was doing all the interviews for it when the news broke.

I haven't gone through every page, so if this has been answered already in sorry. Who from Mexico are they going to work with on this? If New Japan works with CMLL and Lucha Underground works with AAA does that mean that they will get shut out?
