Giving the ep a 6 now that I've seen it in its entirety. Pros: {Spoiler}
-Shining Armor and Cadance exhausted over raising a baby= accurate
-Sunburst and his ability/nonability makes him a much more interesting character than recently face-turned Starlight
-all of the "elements" of the Crystaling ceremony
Cons: {Spoiler}
-Sunburst doesn't even seem fazed at Starlight's indiscretions ("wait, you traveled through time?"). There should have been a lot more happening here.
-Celestia, Luna and Rainbow Dash should have been able to stave off the incoming storms. ESPECIALLY Celestia and Luna.
-the rest of the Mane cast weren't in the background but weren't much help.
Now the big question: {Spoiler}
Celestia and Luna suggest that an alicorn birth is the first of its kind in Equestria. Does this mean that they're ascendant as well? |

I liked it. Starlight Glimmer was still pretty awesome, and while I am still steadfastly anti-baby alicorn, at least they've said it's so goddamn rare, even Tia and Luna have no idea what the hell it could mean.

I guess I'm the only one who likes Spike. I like Spike a lot. Though I also recognize he's very inconsistently written, his episodes are usually pretty bad, and the other ponies a lot of the time treat him worse than the show realizes. |
