I'm starting to think yes. Lesnar has been booked to be pretty much invincible, but at some point SOMEONE has got to get over on him.
They didn't pull the trigger with Reigns, but the timing seems perfect with Ambrose, who is right on the cusp of stardom. And the fact that it's No DQ works perfectly because Lesnar can lose by sawed in half with a chainsaw or some other crazy weapon and still not really lose any heat because they can push the idea that the only way to stop The Beast is with weapons.
I just don't see anyone else on the horizon who I can imagine WWE giving that rub too.

It looks like they're getting ready to strap a rocket to his ass, and giving Brock his first pinfall loss in 3 years would be the way to do it.

He should but I don't know if he will. It seems like they are still set on the idea of having Reigns be the first one to beat him clean after breaking the streak.

The logic of the story is, "I will go where others won't, I know what he'll do to me but I'm willing to do more". Ambrose, put aside the fan support, is in the position where he'll either win or die trying. Either can work to cement him as a main eventer, but the former will do wonders for him. He's got the promo to back it up, he's got that relaxed, happy menacing delivery ala some of Jake's early stuff. I say that it could be his "career making" moment thus far. A loss, done right, won't kill him, but there's too much upside.

While in some ways I wouldn't mind if Ambrose lost but earned Brock's respect in the process, maybe even made him genuinely fear the guy, I think Dean has to go over because it would make all these segments with hardcore legends seem more than a little bit pointless if he didn't and pretty much leave Roman as the only other guy in the current landscape who looks like they have a chance to actually put one over Lesnar.

I am assuming he is going to win, with all the legends giving him stuff, and what not

He needs to but if he doesn't then he'll get Brock's respect which is more than we can say about anybody else on the roster. Who does Lesnar actually respect as a competitor besides Taker? He didn't respect Triple H and he didn't even respect Roman. Gaining Brock's respect and taking him to the limit would do damn near as much as beating Lesnar especially when Lesnar gives him props at the end and Ambrose stays in the ring getting the crowd's full applause. Beating Lesnar? The only guy to actually get a pin on Lesnar since he beat The Streak? That's amazing. It's a win win for Ambrose in either case. He can't loss here. Regardless what happens Ambrose needs to be elevated to another level after this match. It's mandatory. Depending on when Cena and Orton get back I'd actually have Ambrose feud with them and have him go over to get more praise.
He's going to win regardless if he gets the pin or not. As for Lesnar, it's a special stipulations match which is Ambrose's forte and he's still going to go over Wyatt whenever they meet next anyway. He won't be hurt.

Ambrose should get the win at Mania, it wouldn't hurt Brock that badly if he got beat in an anything goes match.

Yes. Lesnar has been booked as a monster, and Ambrose would be *made* by going over him clean. We always bitch about them not having the right guy go over when the time is right, well, this is the right time for Ambrose.

If Ambrose wins, what is the plan for him after Mania? If he beats Brock, is he going to go right back to where he's been for the past couple of years? Does he go on to win Money in the Bank? Does he win the title at SummerSlam?
What I'm saying is, having a real plan for Ambrose is what's really more important than whether or not he beats Brock.
Also, should Brock lose? Does he cease to be the special star who fans see as a legit threat and special star if he loses to Ambrose? He's already lost twice at Mania since he's been back.

Yes, this is the same man that scared off Lesnar with a crowbar a few weeks ago. He also took an F-5 and wanted another one this match will be brutal and barbaric and regardless of the outcome Ambrose will look like a winner

Lesnar has lost too many matches over the past year. Ambrose could gain Austin-levels of overness if he refuses to quit and just gets beaten into a pulp. This should be the last time Ambrose loses a big match in a long time, though. From there on, it should be about building Ambrose up as a f***ing threat with a fire under his ass, which would lead to a battle against Reigns around SummerSlam. If they still refuse to turn Roman immediately after Wrestlemania, I think Roman going heel against a babyface Ambrose could be an appealing feud. Reigns is simply frustrated at the audience choosing Ambrose over him, Ambrose is tired of being regulated to "friend of Roman."

Does he cease to be the special star who fans see as a legit threat and special star if he loses to Ambrose? He's already lost twice at Mania since he's been back. The thing about this is that Lesnar hasn't been pinned since he's broken the Streak. The only one to get a pin on him was Cena when he returned at Extreme Rules but since then Lesnar's been killing it and has been on another level. If Ambrose beats Lesnar through this they can say "Lesnar hasn't been pinned in a legit match yet, Ambrose has to go all out with weapons to get it done" and it still makes Brock look like a monster. He's going to be fine either way and honestly it makes more sense for Lesnar to get beaten by Ambrose with weapons than Reigns without weapons right now. In Ambrose's case, it just depends because I've heard some stuff about him going into the title picture again. Guess we'll see.

Plenty of ways this could go, and Ambrose wins in pretty much all of them. If Ambrose pins Brock using weapons, Ambrose wins. If Ambrose takes a beating, but pins Brock via fluke because he refuses to stay down, Ambrose wins. If Ambrose takes a beating and gets pinned, but Brock shows him respect afterwards, Ambrose wins.
So, most likely, we'll get a rehash of "18 seconds", with Ambrose on the losing end, to make sure the fans know they should be cheering Roman and not Ambrose.
