It's not as if he beat Owens one-on-one clean, in kayfabe he simply found himself in the right place at the right time, both in terms of getting into the match, and taking advantage of the chaos in the match itself. Probably the worst things they could do would be to job him out (ie. the standard midcard champion booking) or to immediately have him drop it tonight. If they're smart they should just have him as a fighting champion, taking on guys in the midcard in solid matches. Put over the fact that the belt means so much to him and that he's proud to defend it. But I said "if they're smart", so... |
