Right. I was thinking specifically right at the climax that really alters the status quo for a lot of things and IS a clever resolution to a story and a big deal. And then Korg makes a couple of silly comments. Wasn't a huge deal, but just something you notice. Yeah, that was something for me that was still funny but if it wasn’t there it would have made it THAT much more serious so I get why it really bothered people, especially considering the big moment of Guardians 2 and how that was treated.

They did a lot well here, but they need to cut down the comedy in places.
Spidey was better IMO, but this tied with GOTG 2. Maybe a 2nd viewing would improve it since it did for GOTG 2 and Spidey.

And then Korg makes a couple of silly comments. Wasn't a huge deal, but just something you notice. That's literally the only gripes I have with Marvel. At times I feel as though there's too much humor and it takes away from the seriousness of the moment. It's not a huge deal, but as you said, definitely something you notice for sure. Dr. Strange I felt was massively guilty of this when he first puts on the cloak of levitation and the moment of epicness is taken away with a humor bit. Really wish Marvel would tone down the humor and focus more on the moment at hand.

I saw it tonight and I thought it was great.
Chris Hemsworth has developed excellent comedic timing, I really enjoyed both Hela and Valkyrie and Jeff Goldblum was great as Jeff Goldbl-uh, I mean The Grandmaster.
Still, Korg stole the movie for me. Virtually every line of his dialogue was hilarious.

I thought more people would be discussing this over the weekend? Where is everyone?
The mid-credit scene was cool but it definitely should've been longer.

I loved the tone of this movie, in fact, I just all around loved the movie. Felt like a one shot, last bit of fun before shit gets really real in Infinity Wars.

I enjoyed it. But the comic geek that I am cringed at all the liberties this movie took. Took too many great things from the comics, like the Warriors Three and Skurge and treated them like complete afterthoughts.

I didn't think Thor: Ragnarok was bad at all. I've been critical of the Marvel movies in the past and I'm not really a huge fan of them as a whole. But in any I've seen Thor in he is always the highlight; be it his stand-alone movies or the Avengers movies. This was no different. {Spoiler}
Pros +++++++++++++ Loki is f***ing awesome in everything he's in. He's probably my favourite character in the whole franchise. Great hair. + Thor is awesome, even without hair (and a hammer and even later in the movie an eye) + No f***ing Tony Stark, Black Widow, Hawkeye or Capitan Dorkus + a fantasy environment and setting which I like a lot more in fantasy movies + Korg was pretty funny, his voice was hilarious + Skurge was pretty cool + Valkyrie's drunken first appearance in the movie was hilarious + Matt. Damon.
Cons - Hela didn't seem like a main baddie. Just like an asterix in the overall picture, which is going to be a problem with these movies when they keep adding more and more but don't kill a lot of them off. - the battles didn't have much weight behind them. - With Wonder Women coming out earlier this year and being a huge victory for progressiveness Valkyrie was basically...Wonder Woman V2.0. Bad timing I guess. - Guardians of the Galaxy did change the direction of this franchise. I enjoy the humor but a lot of times it was a little much. I'd have preferred they dialed down the humor twenty percent. - the Doctor Strange cameo was really pointless, unless the point was to remind me of a movie I forgot even happened (and never saw anyway)
I'd go as far to say it's my second favourite of the Marvel movies, after the first Guardians of the Galaxy. I wish the Thor movies were on their own an not part of the bloated Marvel Cinematic Universe.
8/10

I was sort of confused on the 'outcome' of the Thor/Hulk fight, but honestly I felt Hulk should've been far more dominating. I always felt that Thor was the most powerful Avenger. Hulk might be stronger, but Thor has more power overall. I remember reading The Infinity Gauntlet comic where Starfox said that Thor was the highest card in the deck the heroes had against Thanos.

I just got back from seeing it, and I'm still forming my overall thoughts, but I had a blast. I'll probably be more coherent in my review for the site.

Saw it this morning. Thoughts... {Spoiler}-Totally didn't need to see Hulk's bare ass. -MATT DAMON!! -Totally didn't know it was Cate Blanchette until the credits. -I liked Blue Rock dude. -Loki totally stole the tesseract. I mean, come on..it was there, and he's Loki. -The Dr. Strange scene was awesome and I hope they interact further in the Infinity Wars.

{Spoiler}I know I've griped about Marvel being too kid friendly. But the thought occurred to me regarding the mid-credit scene. For those who has seen the leaked Infinity War trailer. It's safe to say that Thanos killed everyone on that ship except for obviously Thor, Loki, Heimdall, and Hulk.
Pretty sure all of the other Asgardians, Korg, and Mink are dead. Explains why we see Thanos grabbing Thor on the ship too and we see Thor floating in space. I guess what I am trying to say is that it definitely got dark quick.
