Can any fans of the comic give me an idea how long until: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} We see Rick &co/the Hilltop/Kingdom go after the Saviors? I've mentioned it before, but I suspect the entire Negan saga will last two seasons. It's too important in the comics to rush through in just one season. Plus, we need to flesh out Ezekial's character and Dwight may do a bit more, given he has a larger role in the comics. Unless everything he does is instead done via Daryl. But what I wanna know is what happens with Carol, Morgan and Tara. I think it will prob go a season and a half. The group has to start at least showing some uprise by end of season. Daryl I can see them giving all his responsibility that Dwight had to him. I believe those 3 will be good and saved for that next big moment(you read the comic so you know what I mean)

Comic spoiler {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Yes, the Walkers become secondary and, frankly, barely appear {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} If the show holds true to that, then I'm cool with it wrapping up when the Negan saga is over Yeah, I think I'd be okay with that too. Maybe wrap it up for a few years or so then eventually have The Whisperers show up. But even then that might be overkill.

Comic spoiler {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Yes, the Walkers become secondary and, frankly, barely appear So by season 10, walkers are yelled at and berated when they stumble into a house until they finally leave, apologizing. Lol your prediction isn't to far off from the truth.

And The big moment is probably the mid season finale or they might find a way to drag it to season finale. I hope not tho beginning of whispers is dull. What's going on now tho is real good.

That was hard to watch but really good. Just finished watching it, I was disappointed at first thinking it was just gonna be Abraham then bam! Glenn too. That was a shocker. Anyone catch the photograph guy photographing the corpses? Guess we found the owner of the wall they found at the Saviour base they attacked in the last series that was covered in photos of Negan's victims.

Yeah, I'm a bit perplexed by some of the criticism the episode is receiving. I shared the frustration with last season's cliffhanger. But feel this episode delivered a satisfying, if utterly horrifying, conclusion. It just seems like people already had their minds made up and weren't going to like it regardless.
And the overly violent complaint. It's people being bludgeoned with a barbwire baseball bat. What did you think that was going to look like? The whole thing was about Negan breaking Rick. It had to be brutal. Anything less would've felt cheap.

The main complaints I've seen regarding Walking Dead, and this has been for several seasons now, isn't that the show is gory or depressing, but that it revels in nihilism to the detriment of storytelling. Characters are built up and broken down in increasingly brutal ways, seemingly only to endlessly reiterate the themes present in the show since season 1: man is the real monster, hope is dead, etc.
I disagree with this assessment but can definitely see where people come from.

Just imagine the shock of them offing Abraham at the end of last season with everyone seeing it, and then killing Glen the way they did 20 mins in.
They missed a serious trick not doing it that way, the surprise would have been off the charts.

They missed a serious trick not doing it that way, the surprise would have been off the charts. i am more adrenalised through the characters shock of it all than myself, stupid internet but this was something NOT SEEN in TWD ..... someone that's actually colder than the walkers ..... negan is totally different to anything encountered before! he has complete power complete control and complete confidence and ice running through his veins! he's so louche he could be laying down on a chaise-long and still be the most threatening person on the planet. his whole mannerisms are unique and so very unnarming to anyone that meet's this person, and the fact he carries round a baseball bat with barbwire round it and calls it lucille tells you something about the guy it would have to have been daryl too actually get a shot in but like you said, the structure of the episode might have stretched it out, but keep the two batterings inside it ..... and the little montage of everyone getting popped ..... some of the directing was made to be ordinary, not focusing on something kinda kept it off-kilter for the viewer, was quite unnerving. and they kept ratcheting it up, it just didn't stop, and it probably will never stop ..... utterly beguiling welcome back and welcome to a new animal

Alrighty
So it was Abraham
f*** you.
Still, well done show you have made Negan a pretty hateable character, honestly even the comic version seems pretty tame compared to this one.
2 Deaths and 1 MIA
That's already more than last season.
Good start, lets see where it goes from here.

just stay away from any daryl cosplayers then here's a thought two MALE characters ..... devastating of course, but to their female partners? we know rosita was military like abraham, but we've seen her more than soften during her time, she barely made it out of the shock part at the end of the episode but her inner strength will get her through however then there's poor maggie, the first to break, and she broke HARD! her instant reaction was revenge but was brought down, but i doubt that will last, and then there's the obvious 'elephant in the oven' a normal person would be like glass in these situations, but she's with babby and those hormones are already going scattershot, what the HELL is she gonna be like in a few months time??? imagine the end and out pops wittle glenn, hard assed and packng, gunning down negan shouting SUCK DES NUTS

If people are really appalled and offended that two people died, just waited until we get to the Whisperers and {Spoiler}we get the mass-beheading.

Rosita I see them keeping her kill only if they dont do the shes pregnant shit they did before she died

I also think another great part about last night's episode is now I don't ever have to hear that stupid "meet Lucille" thing ever again.

If everyone in this thread posted regularly, we could reach 100 pages. Hell, we could have a mega thread
