Early thoughts before I go to bed Cyclops Scott Summers in X-Men 3 Blaine in Predator (too early) Optimus Prime in Transformers The Movie Rell the Cyclops in Krull I was in denial of Rell's death. Like in my mind he was still there at the end.

It was even worse in the Bay movies because it was just...bad. I mean they unceremoniously just tossed his body onto the base like nothing. Also, i agree with Cyclops, add Apollo Creed and give you Samuel L Jackson in Deep Blue Sea.

I know it's cliche but I was one of those girls who while watching Titanic kept telling Rose bitch move the hell over.

Only death I didn't like in that was Saffron Burrows, since the movie basically follows her and sets her up as the primary protagonist, and then she gets pointlessly eaten in the climax of the film in a swerve Russo himself would've been proud of.

That reminds me. Red State. Killing off the two sympathetic main characters. The story wasn't nearly done at that point. And after that, you had no one to root for. You had the insane doomsday cult or the scumbag murderous police force.
That was Russo like.

TV, but Opie in Sons Of Anarchy. After all he'd been through up until that point, it sucked to see him go in that way.

She was the stealth antagonist, and the only character who really deserved to die by horror movie standards. Her Captain Ahab like obsession against Alzheimers led to the creation of the smart sharks and she saved one's life after it bit Stellen Skarsgard's arm off.

That would be... surprisingly deep for a schlocky horror movie about sharks chowing down on people. Perhaps it deserves more credit than I gave it.

Actually, speaking of Bobby's, Bobby Baccala getting gunned down buying toy trains in the Soprano's. Probably the biggest kick in the balls death in that show

Gwen Stacy in Amazing Spider-Man 2. It feels like the only reason they killed her was because they killed her in the source material, but her death in the movie lacked all the significance and impact that her comic book death had and just came off as pointless. Doesn't help that it killed getting any more Andrew Garfield/Spider-Man movies and I just felt he was perfect in the part. Somebody else said Norrington from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, but Weatherby Swann's (Elizabeth's Dad) death always got to me more. Here's a fun, generally nice guy, mostly used as comic relief up until now, and he gets killed off-screen, his last acts before his death seeming to be signing the order for a mass slaughter of what I assume were falsely accused prisoners. Such a horrible and unnecessary death. Gwen in AS2 was so forced. They'd already faked us out with that spot with Mary Jane AND Gwen in the original series too. Plus the cheesy way that the webbing looked like a hand reaching her. Shitty symbolism, guys. I will say one thing though: The sound of her head bouncing off the floor was absolutely horrifying.

{Spoiler}For me, it was killing off Newt and Hudson (and eventually Bihop)in Alien 3. I hated, hated, hated that they survived all that just to bite it when the shop crashed. Took me out of the movie immediately.
Thank god that Blomkamp's first move when he was developing the new Alien movie was to retcon their and Ripley's deaths.

Chief Brody in JAWS 4. Oh he died from fear....of sharks.
Seriously just piss off. The guy was 2-0 against sharks.
