Cap didn't exactly come out a winner either...no one did except maybe Zemo...that's the thing about Civil War...the villian kinda won in the end. God Zemo was a great figure. Probably the most complex, substantial, tragic villain so far. His eating the same thing for breakfast, not deleting the last Voicemail from his family, watching his plans come to fruition and still only wanting to kill himself...now THAT is dark. Except his backstory was kinda dumb. "Hey kids, let's go watch the apocalyptic battle royale! ... NOOOOOOOO!!!"

What stone does Thanos have? Last I remember he doesn't have any of the stones and only has an Infinity Gauntlet. Edit: Nevermind. Just remembered he had the Space Gem that was in Loki's scepter which is now back at the Avengers tower. Mind Gem, the scepter was the Mind Gem.

I was thinking about the Tesseract.

Mind Gem, the scepter was the Mind Gem. My mistake. You're right. I was thinking about the Tesseract. Here's a handy video guide for the location of all the known infinity stones in the MCU. WARNING: DR. STRANGE SPOILERS ARE IN THE VIDEO.

Actually, the films do go into different styles. The Iron Man films are techno-action films, The Captain America films (at least the last two) are more political thrillers (that just happen to have action scenes), Thor and Dr. Strange are fantasy, Guardians of the Galaxy is sci-fi, Ant-Man is an 80s style comedy (it comes the closest of all the Marvel films to being an out and out comedy), and the Avengers films are the giant epic summer blockbusters (technically all of the Marvel films are, but still,,) with everything being thrown out there and the biggest battle scenes.

Demon in a Bottle wasn't that good in the books really. It was only ground-breaking for the time it was written.
I'm glad they side-stepped that.

It also would kinda be treading the same ground as parts of Iron Man 2.

I don't know if I buy the 'these are just different genre of movies that just so happen to have superheroes in them' claim. It's like when people say 'I read graphic novels, not comic books' when they talk about reading Watchmen or Batman Year One. Why are people so ashamed about superhero comic books and superhero comic book movies to not call them as such?

You don't have to kill off a character to raise stakes. Though, that seems that's the only thing that works for people anymore. Besides, I like the Marvel movies, they are for the most part fun to watch and good for setting up future flicks. And for the most part, they don't have characters walk into a tornado for no reason or rant about demons while replacing apple juice with pig pee or whatever the f*** that plot line was about. Or have Superman say the most deliberately unSupermanlike things possible. "No one stays good in this world." REAL super attitude there.

Plus, Ant Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Dr. Strange are all obscure characters well off the beaten path. Any one of those coulda tanked if they hadn't been done right. That's the opposite of playing it safe.

From Superman being an uncaring selfish destructive brute to Batman becoming a xenophobic sociopath who brands people to having Wonder Woman drench her outfit in the blood of all the people she's killed.

Honestly, they've been doing it in a subtle way this entire time. Watch how often Tony drinks alcohol in the movies. The first film in particular he has a drink in almost every non-action scene.

Right, I just mean I'm glad they haven't made it the full on focus of a movie.

Right, I just mean I'm glad they haven't made it the full on focus of a movie. Yeah, I have no idea how they'd tackle that in a tentpole action blockbuster anyway. It'd just get rushed and bungled. I think the only time we'll see alcoholism handled maturely and with dramatic weight in the MCU will be with Jessica Jones.

It also would kinda be treading the same ground as parts of Iron Man 2. You mean when Tony gets in a drunken fight tahwe never spoke of again? Also shame on all of you I love me some Demon in a Bottle when I read it.

From Superman being an uncaring selfish destructive brute to Batman becoming a xenophobic sociopath who brands people to having Wonder Woman drench her outfit in the blood of all the people she's killed. To be fair, I understand that Superman came off as broody, dark, and depressing which is the complete opposite of his character. But he definitely didn't appear uncaring to me. Granted he should've seen him saving cats from trees, rescuing kids from a burning building, or stopping other forms of crime in Superman like fashion. But he definitely did save people along with the world in Man of Steel, a montage was devoted to him saving people in Batman vs. Superman, and while he definitely shouldn't have said "No one stays good in this world." it's not like he was this cold hearted emotionless being. How exactly did Batman appear xenophobic? As for the whole Wonder Woman deal, I have no idea what in the world Zack Snyder was thinking when he made that statement.
