If Alabama doesn't win, and WMU rows that boat to a Cotton Bowl victory, I believe they should be the #1 team in the country in the final pools to create a split national championship.

I'm not exactly looking forward to seeing what Alabama might do to Washington, but Chris Petersen has a month to prepare, and he's worked miracles before.
As for the Fiesta Bowl, my position has, is, and always will be "Death to Clemson".

I think they should do six playoff teams. Give the top two teams a bye like the NFL.
Anyway, I would have put Penn State in over Ohio State. I know OSU had just one loss, but PSU won the toughest conference and has the head to head win over OSU.

Why is Clemson #2? They wereby far shakier than Penn State It's the Michigan blowout loss, any talk of overcoming early in the year issues is pure BS. Its definitely the difference between them and Clemson especially when you consider both teams actually lost to Pitt. |

South Carolina has the 10-2 South Florida Bulls in the Birmingham Bowl! I didn't think the Gamecocks would get to a bowl, let alone play such a quality team. Should be a great game!

Part of me thought 4 was too little, but if you go to 8, there's going to be a call for 16 because someone is going to get screwed over. I mean look at the top 8 teams, you can make arguments for USC and Western Michigan and they're ranked 9th and 12th respectively.
I think winning your championship is mandatory. Ohio State didn't win their freaking division, I could see the argument if they made it to the championship game but sheesh, it's ridiculous.
