2 playthroughs in and these massive wasps can still kiss my ass with their ridiculous damage.

So what are some of the best photos Prompto has taken during your playthrough?
Just got an awesome one of a closeup of Noctis as he's casting

A few questions... (Obvious spoilers ahead) Was I {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} supposed to feel anything when Ravus died? The guy was in all of 3 scenes all game long. I met his death with a half-hearted shrug.
Another question. Why was the mercenary trying to kill me one minute, then the next minute she's guiding me through a temple to get my mythril? Did I miss something there? Yeah, I agree. After I finished the game I felt it needed some extra scenes to explain bits.
The mercenary one I felt she only guided you because Ardyn asked her too and she followed his orders and grew to gradually like the team as they explored the temple. But yeah, that and her eventual face turn also could have done with a few more cutscenes.
Another one that bugged me, after she drops you off you just randomly appear outside the power station wearing a protective suit with no cutscene to explain wtf is actually going on. How did the demons get into the power planet? Who is the woman you're agreeing to help?
Also the main one, when Gladio disappears... where does he go and where does he get his scar?
At times the story did feel really disjointed. {Spoiler}{Spoiler} Another little thing, but bugged the crap out of me, was when you and clearly Gladio in a suit go into the reactor. It's Gladio. He has his sword. He's huge. His voice isn't disguised in any way possible. Yet Noct is all "LETS GO BIG GUY!" How am I supposed to believe they're all "brothers" when that happened?
Also after Luna dies, Gladio goes from zero to jackass assh*** with ZERO WARNING. There's no character development leading to it, it's just "Gladio is now pissed and also a dick."
AND FINALLY!!! After 10 years
Noct looks grizzled and badass. The boy has grown into a man. ... ...and Gladio has a ponytail. Prompto has a chin-patch. Ignis has new shades.
Lol

Lol {Spoiler}What steamed my broccoli over Gladio turning into a dick was that Noctis didn't actually do anything wrong.
It's not like he made a bad tactical decision which led to Ignis going blind.
Plus Gladio accusing Noctis of not taking been King seriously. Erm, he's travelled half the world looking to seek his ancestors weapons and gain favour with the gods to get the power to take his kingdom back. It's like he's decided to chill at Galdin Quay and wait for everything to blow over.
It's a shame because there would have been a good story there if they made it so it was Noctis' fault that Ignis lost his sight through incompetence, not taking the Empire threat seriously or acting rash and irresponsible.
I'd have had it with Noctis be rash and foolhardy heading straight to challenge The Empire and Ravus despite not been fully prepared (and ignoring the advice to get prepared first) and THEN Ignis loses his sight because of that after the four get their arses kicked and retreat to Altissia.

Even though there is stuff clearly missing(I think it's getting put in with an update at a later point), I really liked this story. The characters were great and I'd rank the main villain number 2 on my list of favourite FF villains. Kuja is still number 1 but the more I think about it, the more I love this villain. Maybe when they add the missing parts, this villain will be number 1. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Ardyn was just a great character. I really wish they fleshed out his character a bit more because he has a great backstory. Originally Ardyn Lucis Caelum, a healer who saved countless people from a disease that turns them into daemons by transferring the disease into him. He was chosen by the gods to do this and he was still denied entry to the afterlife because they deemed him unclean therefore he became immortal. He also ended up being banished by the King(who is believed to be named Izunia). It's a pretty damn good story I really liked the ending too. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}They did such a great job with the main four that I really believed they were best friends. I honestly started to tear up when the game makes you choose a picture to bring with Noct before his death Not sure where I'd rank the game among other Final Fantasy's just yet but I'm comfortable saying it would definitely make my top 5.

I just finished it today, I was level 54 and I'd say more than enough to handle what was ahead. {Spoiler}I was also bothered by Gladio being a major dick all of a sudden after lady Luna dies, wow.
Ignis going blind got me, I thought he would regain his sight, but nope.
Chapter 13 was a pain in the ass, having to dodge those Rogue Axemen while Ardyn taunts you.

Haha, yes! I just beat the superboss! The battle legitimately lasted 2 and half hours and the game cycled through about 3 days. I used 40 potions, 60+ Hi-potions, 40+ elixirs, 40+ Hi-elixirs, 10 megalixars and 15 mega-potions. Wow that was long It was worth it though because it gave me my first platinum. Whew, my hands are sore

Well it looks like I'll have to reluctantly stop playing the game... Basically, I was doing nothing but sidequests and hunts for a while and I was getting sick of doing them, and I wanted to progress with the story. So I did, and I was really enjoying it until I got a seemingly game breaking bug, despite the fact that I downloaded the patch. I Googled it and found this forum thread about it, in which other people are having the exact problem I have, SPOILERS obviously: linkI REALLY don't want to have to start the game over again, as I've put far too much time into it... Ok, this is the mission I'm currently on. It seems that I just shouldn't fast travel out, and should walk or drive out to avoid this? Sorry, I missed your reply. From what I've read, it happens regardless of how you leave the area, and the way to avoid it is not leaving the area and finishing the chapter. I had to restart the game and rush my way through it to get back to it, and now that I've finished the chapter I've got a ton of sidequests to redo.

What happens when you beat it? {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Yes, that's the one. Nothing really happens, it's just a hunt. You get 50k gil and an Adamantoise bangle which brings your hp up to 9,999.
I still have to do the secret dungeon and the locked dungeons. So I've plenty left to do.

Yeah, I really wish this game had a 'fire your help' button.
If I was Noctis, there is no f***ing way Gladio is getting off the train as my hired help.

He's just such a super dick. The story in this game really lets it down. I've got used to the combat and the button mashing now, and have really enjoyed the little Easter Eggs and classic monsters that have popped up, but the characters are so shallow and undefined, but worse than that, sometimes something will happen in the story and it really feels like something has been cut rather than not being there. I have a horrible feeling they'll fix the story through DLC, but if they follow the XIII formula, I'd be very happy to come back and revisit this world and these characters with a better story and a more traditional party system. It comes to something when the only moment I've felt at all emotional in the game was when {Spoiler} The Regalia was crashed up rather than anything that has happened to the characters, and that is down to the really, really poor story.

{Spoiler}For me, the ending was very emotional, especially the part where Luna & Noctis are on the throne together and fall asleep looking at the picture you chose before the final battle.

{Spoiler}I was replaying the final boss and I noticed one of the dead bodies hanging by the throne is Nyx from Kingsglaive.

Having now just finished the game.....yeah, they really shit the bed at actually telling a decent story.
I had to just make up and assume half the stuff because they never really put much emphasis in to telling me anything.
Apparently new DLC will be released to fill in more story and plot - which just annoys me, because I want to buy a game to play and get a good story from, especially an FF game. I dont want to buy a release day game and only actually get half the story and then have to replay the whole game later to 'fill in the bloody blanks.'
What should have been the end of an epic game journey was just an exercise in pushing O and trying to figure out why what was happening was happening, and more, why I should care!

I purchased the game Friday and so far after 20 hrs I am still having fun. Still only in Chapter 5 and doing a bunch of side quest.

I got to end-game area so I backtracked and now I'm just beating side quests, because I feel once I beat it I'm never ever going to touch it again. It certainly didn't rope me in enough to spend $$$$ on DLC.
