No love for the Star Wars Christmas Special? While the love doll they used to replace Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher being visibly off her gourd, and Harrison Ford's constant battle to keep the "just think of the paycheque" expression off his face are all amusing, everything else is just too painful to sit through for me.

Currently organizing a group of friends to get together to sit down and watch "Rare Exports".
I have made sure that all my friends have seen the Star Wars Holiday Special. Most of them have forgiven me.
Most.

Ah, Christmas. The most wonderful time of the year to remember moments past and that move the heart.
For me, the list is... eclectic.
Movies
Die Hard It's A Wonderful Life National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation The Muppet Christmas Carol
Television
Dragnet "The Big Little Jesus" A Charlie Brown Christmas From The Earth to the Moon "1968"
And the star on top of my tree, it is never Christmas without
The West Wing "In Excelsis Deo"
If you have never seen it, do it. Even if you never watch another episode, watch this. Or, if not interested, witness the awesome majesty of the last five minutes.

Plus it's terrible. Not terrible in a this is fun way. Terrible in a this is very bad and hard to watch way.

No love for the Star Wars Christmas Special? Odd as it may sound, I like the opening bit about who's all going to be in it. It takes me back to when networks had those holiday specials with all kinds of random television guests. Scrooged's promo about the Night Before Christmas live special captures it perfectly.

Saturday Night Live hosted by William Shatner (Christmas 1986) was a classic. Musical guest Buster Poindexter singing "Zat you, Santa Claus?" The lost ending of "It's a Wonderful Life" where the townsfolk rise up and kick the crap out of old man Potter for being a thief and s fraud. A great episode all around.

Charlie Brown and National Lampoon are two yearly musts, with Planes, Trains and Automobiles earning an asterisk

This and Claymations are pretty much the only things I've watched from being a kid to now and still enjoy just as much.
