Noone wants to see two guys with dumpy asses fake fight. Wrestlers that are out of shape make the whole biz look bad. See also Owens, Kevin. ... This is just trolling, right? Whether it or it isn't, it's incredible to me how for a long time, WWE were the ones deadset on people having a specific body type, size or look, and many in our fanbase were demanding they broaden their horizons... Now they've done so, with a ton of guys with smaller statures, weird physiques and various degrees of hair loss, and now we have others speaking up wanting to go back to the old ways, seemingly.

I don't see any chance of them using the Kassius Ohno name seeing as they have tied the initials "KO" to Owens and that was the whole point of the name. And it's not like name means that much, anyway. He was in NXT before it blew up and became a hugely popular commodity. If you really wanted to pretend Kassius Ohno didn't exist, I don't think that would be a massive problem.

f*** I hope this is true and they actually realize what they have this time. I don't care how big he is, he's one of the best wrestlers on the planet and he's better than 90% of their current roster. The fascination with his weight is f***ing gross and pathetic. Completely agreed. It's also stupid when you consider that three of the most athletic guys in WWE are Owens, Joe, and Bray. Body shape does not = athleticism.

Because that is a part of the point. Broadening your horizons equals...broadening your horizons more. Sturgeon's Law is always in place. 90% of everything is crap. That will never change. If a net is cast very slow to scout or try and get something- the stuff that you get will be far, far more likely to be high-quality and the best of the best, and most of the crap won't have a chance to get in. The wider the net is cast on that thing, the more crap will start to trickle in, then more, until the crap gets in just as much as the great stuff and makes it look good...and then, something else with a smaller net cast will have less and less crap trickle in until IT looks like it's better, and so on and so forth.

Well I hope he gets a job with WWE but not before Saturday at least because he's scheduled to be at WrestleCircus.

Okay those guys are very athletic and all and Bray Wyatt pretty much has a strongman build at this point but I would not say those guys are 3 of the most athletic guys. Like when you take in factor of Strength, Speed, and Stamina I would say Rollins, Cesaro, Crews, Brock Lesnar, AJ Styles (extremely strong for a little dude), Roman Reigns, Nakamura, Gable, Jason Jordan, Cedrick Alexander, Gallagher, Swagger, Rusev, TM61, Cien, and maybe Cena are more athletic. Like some of those guys on the list are actual Olympians, accomplished amateur wrestlers, accomplished athletes in other sports, and such. Like not only we're in a golden age of workrate, I would say we're also in a golden age of legitimate athletes on the roster compared to yesteryear.

It is fairly immature to call someone a troll just cause you don't agree with me. This is my thought on the matter. There are guys that look imposing despite carrying a lot of fat on their frame (Bray, and Samoa Joe for example). There are also guys who in my opinion, just look awful, such as Hero, and Kevin Owens. I cannot take their matches seriously, due to how awful they look. They look like some fan just put on some (ill-fitting) gear, and got in the ring. If someone who has never seen wrestling before tuned in for the first time saw Hero, they would think; "Jeez, that guy looks awful. Wrestling is stupid"

WWE just signed someone a few months after they released a DVD interview with Dave Meltzer.

I could tell you for a fact that one of my friends couldn't get into a Hero match because his look is so awful, and two other ones weren't into Owens because he looks like how they imagine the average Reddit user looking, then they just kept cracking jokes about it the entire time he was on screen and honestly, it's probably not far from the truth. Personally I like both guys but it's weird how people cannot even fathom the idea of a person who isn't familiar with either man looking at them and seeing an unintimidating fatso. Owens had a look that worked for him when he was JUST debuting in NXT, he looked like a burly dude ready to throw down. Now he's just kind of fat and unimpressive, though he's still great. Hero's never carried his weight well IMO. There's big and intimidating fat guy and then there's this soft, curvy motherf***er with love handles and child-bearing hips who throws elbows and does insane spots you wouldn't think a dude like that can do. Discussions on this topic tend to go absolutely f***ing nowhere but there's my scientific anecdotes and my opinions.

I do hope he gets better gear. His weight can be kind of overblown, but at least some of that has got to come down to how unflattering his trunks are. Yeah, I'm fairly sure he's not even as big as Kevin Owens, but the trunks combined with his lanky body type really accentuates the size of his belly. While Owens looks quite intimidating, Hero does sorta personify the "wrestlers are just fats guy rolling around in their underwear" stereotype. Yeah there's really two ways of marketing his look. Either put him in a singlet like Colt Cabana or Swagger (who both look unflattering in trunks) or Shirt & Shorts/Pants style like his old look or Bray Wyatt or Kevin Owens. Or you can sort of market him as The Roy Nelson of the WWE where you're not suppose to judge a book by it's cover.

Regarding his size, I think Kevin Owens and Bray Wyatt has changed quite a few people opinions over the years of what husky people can do in the ring. Vince is probably finally understanding not every wrestlers has to be black hair, a six pack and tribal tattoos.

Gonna have to pull one of Big Daddy V's singlets from storage.
Heyyyyo.
Real answer... I haven't seen any of his recent work with his added weight (really haven't seen much of his work period. Outside of his earlier NXT stint which I've entirely forgotten) so I don't have an opinion on Ohno Hero... Maybe he looks better in motion, but pictures do indeed make him look dreadful. I wish he'd get more flattering gear, but if his matches are as awesome as everyone says they are I'm sure he'll win me over pretty quickly. It's always fun when NXT gets a new toy.

Shallow as it is, the saying "The first bite is with the eye" applies to more than just food. I can and do appreciate Hero's work, and a lot of his work in the last year has been better than his work when he was in the best shape of his career... but I appreciate his work despite his look, which I do find off-putting purely based on how he looked five years ago.

My friend who isn't a wrestling fan watched the latest RAW pay per view with me and her exact words were: "It seems unrealistic that that guy(owens) would be able to compete with that guy (Rollins)"

If Cesaro can't be more than a tag team guy just pair him with Chris Hero instead of f***** Sheamus

I do not understand how some people cannot get into a wrestler just because they do not have a six pack. Is this wrestling or gay porn?

I do not understand how some people cannot get into a wrestler just because they do not have a six pack. Is this wrestling or gay porn? Wrestling is entertainment and entertainment is an aesthetic business. If Chris Hero starred in an action movie it would have to be a comedy because most people wouldn't be able to take it seriously. It's only within the hardcore wrestle bubble where workrate trumps everything else.

The fact that they re-hired him despite his physical appearance is an indiction that all they care about is he's a great worker. It might have even been in his favor. I believe some video of him made the rounds with him doing some athletic moves as kind of a "f*** off" to people calling him fat, and I think that gained traction. I haven't personally seen it, but non-wrestling fan friends asked me about that "Chris Hero" guy, so maybe WWE sees an opportunity in that. I like Chris Hero, but I miss the cravates. I also would kinda rather have Chris Masters back.

I haven't seen recent photos of Chris. Has he lost all that weight from his back surgery? He got Samoa Joe in TNA levels of chunky, but he hasn't lost much speed.
