However you want to measure it. For example Chris Sabin and Eddie Edwards can at worst be described as capable wrestlers. However their reigns were/are abysmal.

Higher-Than-TNA's-Morale Jeff Hardy
He obviously still had demons tapdancing on his gourd and they still stick the title on him.

Magnus. TNA managed to ruin his career with the worst main event run not meant as a joke.

If we are including the actual NWA from the past how can we overlook Ronnie Garvin's fiasco of a title run? He tanked ratings from a 4.0 to a 2.8 in the 2 months he had the belt and had no notable defenses other than losing to Flair.
TNA's bad champions are too numerous to remember. I'd have to say Magnus was pretty bad as well. His run is the definition of being buried with the belt, how a title run can completely devalue a guy.

Magnus. TNA managed to ruin his career with the worst main event run not meant as a joke. Which is f***ing sad. At that point he was a breath of fresh air and his look screamed I'm a champion. What they did to him was a shame. With Mickie back in the door once their baby gets a little older I can see him at least getting a look from WWE as a reclamation project.

Anytime Jarrett held to to prove he was a main eventer. Point in case beating an over Raven for the belt on same random Canadian house show.

For the reason of "Dear God, this is torture", Jeff Jarrett. I couldn't buy him as a World Champion in WCW, and I couldn't buy him as a World Champion in TNA.
Otherwise, I'd say Mike Rapada was the worst NWA World Heavyweight Champion.

Mick Foley should not have been anywhere near a World Title in 2009 this say what you will about Jarrett reigns of doom but at least he could wrestle, Mick wasn't in wrestling shape and he was one of my favorites when he was an active wrestler

Eric Young is worth mentioning just because it was so transparent what they were trying to do. Eric Young himself is a fine choice, but they weren't fooling anybody.

It was a complete coincidence that their bearded wrestler won two matches in a single night to gain the championship while also having an arm injury happened the week following Mania... also did you know Dixie originated the yes chant sug?

Ignoring Jarrett (since that's kinda a gimme since dude is a permanent midcarder), probably Magnus. That run genuinely ruined dude's career.

Guess tna just tna's itself TNA were moving to a new home so they had to reset to their default champions. AJ got the X belt, AMW got the Tag Belts and Jarrett was the World title. That's just what TNA did whenever they moved or did anything to get more eyes on the product for some reason.

I'm too lazy to go back and dig up old threads to see if I remember things properly but there were at least a few marks who were definitely getting fooled given the way they tried to defend it/insist that wasn't what was happening.
