Hope I'm not opening a can of worms on this one, but I want to see if I'm the only person in the world who gets angry when this happens.
I'm tired of the women constantly slapping their male counterparts with no comeuppance.
I realise the men fighting back would cause an uproar, but the message this sends is that if you're a woman, you can be as smug as you like and be as violent as you wish, because nothing will happen back to you ever.
It gets on my nerves and in my opinion it should stop.
Now before anyone gets me wrong, I realise this is professional wrestling and I'm also not a political correctness crusader. Hell, if I had it my way, we'd still be in attitude-era mode where everything goes. But we're not. We're in an era where you can't hit a girl on live tv to reflect real life and that's fine. But please let's stop sending the message that men can be used as target practice for women if they're never going to get anything in return. It was bad enough when Steph used to do it pretty much every week, but it happened to Miz and Ambrose now, and especially Ambrose looked like an idiot being slapped like that in the middle of the ring and doing nothing about it.
Sorry for the rant, have your go at me if you wish.

Renee got something in return, she got Maryse slapping her and moving her jaw 2 inches over.
Ambrose got his revenge on Maryse by winning the IC Title from Miz. Of course that shouldn't have counted due to Maryse slapping Ambrose, and Ambrose putting his hands on the ref. So he stole the title, damn Daniel "On the Take" Bryan, constantly screwing over Miz. Anyway, you know that Renee's going to slap Maryse as payback for Ambrose and her.

I absolutely agree. And since it popped into my head, I'll use the current Miz-Ambrose feud as an example, since I like using examples to illustrate a point.
Maryse shouldn't lay hands on Ambrose in this feud because Ambrose can't hit back. Normally this would have Renee step up, but we just established that Maryse can't pay hands on Renee either or she'll be fine. So, does Renee get a free pass to slap if need be? Does Maryse's role as manager give her permission to lay hands on someone? It's too vague, and honestly I feel like the inclusion of the women and slapping hinder the feud.
If we're against domestic abuse, it goes both ways. We can't say it's okay for one gender to do it but not the other. Maybe some disagree, but I feel like a need to be fair to all genders.

Nah because if the man does fight back, he gets shredded still. I mean just look at Joe Mixon. Dude was called a racial slur, pushed, and slapped. He hits the girl and people want him to never play football game. It's just the time we live in. WWE can't do anything different.

I remember writing a similar thread about Alexa Bliss slapping the Vaudvillains every week, so much so they actually made a storyline out of it because she knew they wouldn't hit back so she'd stand there and slap the piss out of them both knowing they'd never do anything about it, and it was strange booking because were we supposed to WANT them to hit her back?
I watched Ambrose take the slap and it got me thinking to when Austin stunnered Stacy Keibler for not taking a beer and it being shrugged off by everyone. What a difference a decade makes, huh?

It's like saying I can punch someone in the mouth but they get their comeuppance because I burn my toast the following morning

I look at it this way. Brock Lesnar should never even think about punching me, ever. But if I don't want to be punched by Lesnar, I should never punch him first.
Same with women and men. Again, don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning man on woman violence, but in a controlled environment such as a scripted tv show, we should stop sending the message that it's fine and dandy to hit a man if you're a woman, simply because they cannot hit back.

Disregarding that though, I'm about as angry with this as I would be with someone dropping a million dollars off at my doorstep with some free pizza to boot.

Wrestling history is littered with disproportionate retribution, regardless of gender. Jake Roberts ruined Randy Savage's wedding reception, made a snake bite his arm and slapped his wife. All Savage got to do was beat him in a wrestling match.
It's best to not let it get you down.

I'm just tired of the woman's special slap finisher making a comeback.
Most of the girls use submission moves as finishers, lock a dude up in the armbar or leglock. I'd pop for Charlotte or Sasha or Bayley hitting the Natural Selection, Banks Statement, or Bayley to Belly on a guy running them down.
But it'll never happen cause we can't make the muscleheads look weak by getting beaten up by a girl. But the models and stick figures they had back in the day took Stunners, Rock Bottoms, Pedigrees, RKOs, etc.
The women are legit wrestlers now, plus it could be a small nod to Chyna in that she broke the barrier to compete with men. I bet Jericho especially wouldn't mind jobbing to a woman again since the Jericho and Chyna feud is pretty well remembered by us older members here.

Perfect opportunity to use this gif as it sums up my answer to the question, and contains the man used as an example:

In general I'm pretty much on the side of, "If a woman slaps a man in wrestling, a reaction should be fair game." I don't see a dividing line between violence against women and in other fiction where nobody complains about it. And really, "Women hitting men is fine, but men hitting women never is, ever!" is a pretty sexist sentiment both ways anyway.
Granted I'd be more okay with it if they'd stop drawing so much attention to it. If it were a once in awhile thing, fine, whatever, but WWE does this constantly.
