Yikes... I always thought Whisper was getting by more on his discount Kevin Condron/Vin Gerard gimmick than necessarily his ring work but that doesn't sound good. Part of why Ophidian was such a great talent, and still is, is that while it took him a while to get a full handle on his character work he's been a great character and a great wrestler for years now. He also had the great benefit of having his formative years being in a tag team, which helped conceal some of his rougher edges from time to time. Heck, the same could be said for a lot of the talent of yesteryear that we look back fondly on. For example, half of Dasher's problem for the longest time was he flew solo for most of his CAW days. Which led to a lot of people being much more critical of him than his contemporaries that were in tag teams and trios that were just as rough, but had other people to fall back on. Didn't help every time he was starting to turn a corner, CAW with the SSB & Ultimo Breakfast, it felt like they yanked the rug out from under him or just didn't follow through. The latter issue haunted him even into his Dasher days. Part of me hopes Whisper doesn't get the axe like Kodama. But part of me also says what's good for the goose is good for the gander, and fair's fair, you boot one person over that, you should not play favorites. You can't play favorites here. If you don't fire or at the very least severely reprimand Whisper for a precedent you set, it makes your whole company look bad and completely hypocritical. Batiri put it out there Kodama was fired for saying "Shit", Whisper did the same thing. If Quack is willing to cut someone, one half of arguably their most over Tag Team outside of The Colony at that current time and one of their most over teams period, I don't know what would protect a rookie from the same fate. And it wouldn't be a storyline, because Quack is not afraid to halt a storyline or change course over letting someone go, he's done it before. So yeah I'd say Whisper is in trouble, or, CHIKARA's lost more respect from me. |

I will say in regards to Ophidian/Whisper's swear, I was on the same side of the ring as him. He might get away with it if not everyone heard it.

There's a lot more invested in Whisper at this point. Sadly there wasn't a whole lot happening with The Batiri which kind of made them more expendable. I'd bet Whisper gets a warning. He's young and was obviously frustrated. If he continues to swear at shows I could see him being shown the door and told it's not working out. Remember that Fenix said much worse and did so much louder at the 2015 Trios and went on to win the entire tournament. It's not really a black and white issue.

There's a lot more invested in Whisper at this point. Sadly there wasn't a whole lot happening with The Batiri which kind of made them more expendable. I'd bet Whisper gets a warning. He's young and was obviously frustrated. If he continues to swear at shows I could see him being shown the door and told it's not working out. Remember that Fenix said much worse and did so much louder at the 2015 Trios and went on to win the entire tournament. It's not really a black and white issue. To be fair, Fenix and Whisper are worlds apart from each other in terms of importance and potential exposure for CHIKARA. Especially considering Quack's traits and habits, he likely wasn't going to rebook the tournament the weekend of it. |

If it's true that Kodama was fired over saying one word, and it wasn't a third strike or anything like that, then yeah, Whisper should at the very least be heavily reprimanded. I don't think firing is necessary, because I think it is possible to simply realize that at some point you're cutting off your nose to spite your face. But some sort of a punishment is necessary.

As good as it was for FIST to win, that was UnStable's year to win to really solidify them. It's not a rumor. It came straight from Chuck Taylor in one of his shoot interviews. The rumor part that I heard after was part of the reason was that Colin Delaney was considered too lazy. I can't give you a source for that part so feel free to take it or leave it. |

Let me get this right: They fired Kodama for swearing, when Eddie Kingston was employed by them for how long? Yeah, and I was actually at a Live Reading show where Eddie openly said shit after he got out of a move. Fan- THAT'S NOT PG EDDIE! Eddie- I know I know... Im assuming that this whole "NO CURSING" thing has been heightened the last two years. Unless Kodama was really unliked by Quack already and that was a straw breaker... |

Kingston had such a temper back then. Quack knew he was gold so I think he overlooked a lot of it. You could tell Ophidian was frustrated with Saturyne. She was good but she'd botch hard occasionally. I'm a casual viewer of Botchamania. I've seen some CHIKARA stuff on there. The Kevin Steen cussing that got him banned for years was on there. Does anyone know if that cage match with Icarus and Deucalion was covered on there? That definitely should've been on the show. That cage looked like it was going to fall apart at any time. Match wasn't great either. The rest of that card was really solid so it is worth watching that CHIKARA show. |

is funny/weird seeing chikara guys wearing other chikara guy's shirts outside of chikara? juan was wearing a nazmaldun shirt at the pwe show tonight. i thought it was kind of cool but weird. quack was there but hid in his office the whole show or escaped via a different exit.
*also eddie kingstons gfw contract is up in October apparently. as far as i know they are doing nothing with him anyway. so eddie back to chikara? yay or nay?
