I had a good time watching Suicide Squad. It was two hours of thoughtless action. However it was a deeply flawed film. It was all over the place.
BvS was ok. I liked watching it, but I don't feel the need to watch it over and over. For all of the reasons to bring Superman and Batman together you use the name "Martha." When I saw that I laughed and I know I wasn't supposed to. It was so ridiculous, that it was laughable.

F***!!!!!! This DCEU thing isn't gonna work out is it? Though I wonder how certain people are gonna blame this on Marvel or say that superhero movies have "jumped the shark" and that's why this is happening. Though this begs to ask the question. Why can Marvel make 10 billion dollars off this and DC can't even get their franchise off the ground? TimeWarner is evidently a mismanaged shitshow, stemming form the turner days. Can confirm that to be true, in all branches. I think Wonder Woman is going to sting the worse if it turns out to be a disaster. A lot of people are excited for it from the trailers, and if this ends up being a mess too, it's going to disappoint a lot of people.

It feels like at a point the plan was the more logical, "Save my mom," or maybe, "Save Martha Kent," and those would make more sense both for Superman to say and to convey the point of that scene that Bruce reevaluates Clark after learning that even on the verge of dying he's concerned about a lowly human, but then someone noticed, "Hey, both their names are Martha!" and awkwardly crowbarred it into the movie so you have Clark calling his mom by her first name for absolutely no reason and Bruce losing his shit like he's never heard of anyone but his mom having that name before.

At least they finally learned their lesson with trailers and how shit they were before and giving away the story and surprises. If Wonder Woman bombs I think that is nail in the coffin half way. If that bombs how much turn out will it be for Justice League? It will be cool to see all the big name heroes on one screen but it will flat.

Yeah as I've said before I get what they were going for... but the way it was handled was botched. they were going for Batman realizing he's not a dangerous alien monster with Clark showing concern over his mother... but they did it in probably the stupidest way they could. Can confirm that to be true, in all branches. I think Wonder Woman is going to sting the worse if it turns out to be a disaster. Yeah, TMNT 2 kinda proves that if you burn out the fanbase enough they won't show up even if you give them more or less what they were asking for. and before anyone misunderstands me I'm not predicting this happens or even want it to happen to the DC movies.

Get rid of the Snyders. They are terrible. Let them go away and create their own shitty superheroes, rather than ruining established ones.

They could've made it work with just the slightest changes too Superman: Please save Martha Bats: What? Who's Martha? Supes: My mom. Dude has my mom Bats: Gotcha. I'll see what I can do Bats: Probably should lead with that next time bud

But no one finds it odd that it's always upcoming DC films that have the rumor of "Everything is a disaster on set"?
It seems like anytime DC has a film coming out whether its in the Summer or holiday month there's always that one article that indicates how horrible it is. I just find it a bit odd and more on the agenda side rather than something that has a true sense of legitimacy. Of course, I could be wrong.

Well, I mean, we've had major upheaval behind the scenes already only halfway through the first wave of this universe they're trying to build, a movie putting Batman and Superman together that came in at about $850 million which, while not paltry, is nothing compared to the easy billion the thing should have been with them both in it and with the performances of the previous two Batman movies, middling reviews for Man of Steel giving way to outright bad ones for BvS and Suicide Squad, and clear as day cases where things are being cut out of the movies that should be left in or things are being extremely obviously added in post, which'd both seem to indicate last minute scrambles to retool movies they don't think will work in that state, and you've got Affleck flip-flopping back and forth on if he even still wants to be a part of this thing when he's presently one of the pillars of it. Combine that with Snyder pretty much saying in interviews a few times that shit like the way Luthor is played was basically decided on the fly and you get pretty much all signs indicating that the reason this news keeps coming out is probably because it keeps legitimately happening.

Would of been interesting if they got Nolan and Bale in that universe. Even though we had Batman living his life you could say he came back because Joseph Gordon Levitt seeked him out to become his Robin. His Joker takes on a new appearance(taking that from the comic) kills Robin and etc... There was a world already built that could of been tinkered with. Everything stinks of it being on the fly and trying to add to stuff that isn't. Their original visions are thrown in the trash and they try to upscale to save face. Batman V Superman should of did an easy one billion. What they made isn't anything to sneeze at but it's a mere consolation prize on the big scale.

I just find it a bit odd and more on the agenda side rather than something that has a true sense of legitimacy. Of course, I could be wrong. I could see a conspiracy if perhaps BvS and Suicide Squad weren't bad films. Like I said above, I enjoyed them, but they were bad. I always see this conspiracy being floated around by DC fans that everyone is out to get them. It's not that at all. It's the fact that DC and WB saw the amount of money that Marvel was making and wanted to get involved. Good for them too, but they have so far done it in the worst way possible. Man of Steel is the first film, and then you jump into this feud with Batman vs Superman that was thrown together in one of the worst ways possible. They have them join forces in a cringe-worthy scene. I get what they were going for, but "Martha" was awful. With everything that is going on, you introduce Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Flash, and Aquaman. Instead of them getting movies to shine in, we get Suicide Squad, and now we get Justice League with Wonder Woman before it. They should built the individual characters up, moved on to BvS or Justice League. Give us a reason to care and root for these characters. Give them time to sign without having to share it with the entire team. Then put them together.

Affleck rewrote Batman v Superman on set while in costume because he thought so little of the script, and the movie was delayed by ten months ostensibly because the original cut was four hours long and they really struggled to find a way to trim it down to a manageable length (which they ultimately failed to do). David Ayer was given just six weeks to write Suicide Squad from scratch, was rushed through production, was forced to do a ton of reshoots when the studio saw the positive reaction to the early trailers and knew they didn't accurately portray the tone of the movie, then focus tested the life out of two different cuts of the movie before saying "f*** it" and stitching the first half of the WB cut and the second half of Ayer's cut together at the last minute. The Flash has lost two directors since last April, and with production due to start in March it means whoever steps in to take over is going to have to do so with minimal prep time. Affleck is balking on The Batman because WB want the movie ready to ship to theatres by a set date when he's always been a director who only delivers a movie when it's ready. WB know this, so why bother hiring him for the director's chair and then try to make him work in a way he never has before? It's like hiring a five-star chef and trying to make him a short order cook. The production of the entire DCEU has been shaken up with the formation of DC Films, with Geoff Johns taking over from Snyder as the creative head. That sort of upheaval in itself creates problems. While not confirmed, it seems that Snyder is also director-in-name-only on JL with Johns and Affleck calling the shots. With all that in mind, is it really a stretch to believe that JL and WW have also had troubled productions?

Ant-Man was a total shit show when Edgar Wright left and people were certain it was at long last going to be the first Marvel flop (after Guardians of the Galaxy, the first first Marvel flop, was awesome and a massive hit). They actually managed to right the production halfway through and end up with a pretty decent movie. Not their biggest hit, but certainly not the disaster people were predicted when Wright bailed. DC's movies generally sound like disasters during production and then end up confirming those reports when they hit the screen.

It was heavily expected that it was going to be a failure for those reasons and because of Ant-man not exactly being a well known hero. and as stated earlier Fant4stic was also called a disaster on set with all the shit Trank was doing (like flat out ignoring Kate Mara, and getting into a fist fight with Miles Teller) and that Fox had to scramble to reshoot the movie so they didn't get sued for making a fantastic four movie In name only... and guess what it was a terrible disaster of a movie

Because they want the name value of "Academy Award Winner" Ben Affleck in the director chair, but they also want him to be a John Laurinaitis level stooge who will subscribe to everything the higher ups tell him, despite the fact that these higher ups are the ones who resent the fact that they have to make movies about people in costumes.

I am just pointing out that it seems a bit odd that DC films always have reports of being disasters before their release. How long has Wonder Woman been in production? We didn't hear about any of this during the production, now all of a sudden its a disaster? Justice League, I could kind of buy, simply because it's not surprising given the reception of Batman vs. Superman. However, I simply cannot grasp why every DC film that's about to be released in a few to several months time receives the disaster article piece from an individual who might have an agenda.

Anyone could've seen that was going to be a disaster from the beginning.
