I enjoy the robotic Rei Ayanami-like short haired (often blue haired) snarky Best Girls but they literally are always the exact same character. They never show any feelings until they met/are saved by the MC and suddenly learn how to cry/smile/laugh/etc.
Rem from Re:Zero is a recent example
