Sure, but football season goes longer than that; the point is more about over the top fandom for anything, really, since most of our collective favorite pastimes really aren't much better or worse than people being into somebody like Beyonce. There'll be plenty of people who'll whine about the attention Beyonce gets who'll get themselves into fist fights over a game, or something along those lines. Yeah, those people whose entire self image is wrapped up in if a football team wins have no room to talk ...we're wrestling fans. Two years ago, the defining political movement of our generation was "Get Daniel Bryan a prop on a TV show", and some people are still fighting it even now, even though Bryan is retired. We have no room to talk either.

And even if I may think Beyonce is a talented musician, I in no way cross that crazy worship line, or the people here don't cross that crazy worship line- but the whole thread is about crazy worship (and it IS fair to say the Bryan thing- like the Divas' examples made earlier, or the Ambrose ones, crossed that line.) EDIT: I changed the original post to "some people", but I refuse to change it to the singular because I believe that making it a singular would be claiming "I, PERSONALLY" am doing that, and I feel that's as unfair to pin on me as you would believe "we" is pinning it on you.

Eh, at least she seems like a nice lady. Unlike the worship Chris Brown gets despite the fact that he's...well, Chris Brown.

She's talented, but yeah ANY celebrity fanbase that goes overboard until full on cult shit is just odd. Beyonce, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, whoever, they all have fanbases that take things WAY too far.
They're just people.

The amount of worship Beyonce gets and how Jay Z transcended from a rapper to a powerful executive mogul is enough of a reason for me to believe there is smoke that they are members of an all powerful Illuminati. DDP is the luckiest naive bastard to get out alive for mistakenly using the Illuminati symbol as the Diamond Cutter symbol and later suing possible High ranking Illuminati member Jay Z over the hand gesture.

Eh, at least she seems like a nice lady. Unlike the worship Chris Brown gets despite the fact that he's...well, Chris Brown. This. him and certain other people that get talked about, and they're just awful people, and this is somehow celebrated. I don't think Beyonce is a bad person. It's just that her level of celebrity makes her a bit disconnected from the real world (whatever that is). I do, however, resent the fact that "woman pregnant" is earth-shattering news. Something living organisms have been doing since the dawn of time. I said it of Kate Middleton years ago, I'm saying it of Beyonce now: it's not special, the child, when born will not be special (they may go on to do something awesome, but not yet), so why are we acting like they are? Again, I feel the need to reiterate, that I do not hate Beyonce, I am just more than a little mystified by it all. Besides, I preferred her work when she was backing baby rappers:

This has been going on for ages. Look at Elvis and Beatlemania.

My earliest memory of hardcore celebrity fandom followed the death of Kurt Cobain. Granted, he died and that is indeed big news. But grunge fans took it really hard and there were a bunch of people at my school who mourned right up until his funeral.

Either way, congrats to Beyonce on her first pregnancy It's her second. I think the joke might be that she's already had a big pregnancy announcement. But people are acting like this is the first time hearing that the almighty Queen B can give life.

Either way, congrats to Beyonce on her first pregnancy It's her second. Confused Mark Wahlberg is joking, because there was some speculation that the first pregnancy was carried by someone else. She appeared on a talk show, and when she sat down, her baby bump went in. (Something like that, I didn't see the show)

The Super Bowl's once a year while celebrity gossip is eternal. There'll be plenty of people who'll whine about the attention Beyonce gets who'll get themselves into fist fights over a game, or something along those lines. A few bad apples spoil it for the bunch. I'm a football fan, but yeah, getting into fist fights over the game is certainly taking it too far. In reality there are over the top fans for pretty much everything.

Yeah Deltas been using that symbol way longer than Jay or Diamond. It actually bugs me that he has that trademarked when it was clearly in use by that org before DDP did it.

This has been going on for ages. Look at Elvis and Beatlemania. They weren't around for over the top 24 hour new coverage though. They beat something into the ground, the public responds by parroting them. Then you have two groups of people; those who want more and those who hate the overhype. Both of which are still discussing the subject, driving a manufactured demand for more coverage, while both are having their opinions shaped by the coverage. It's a science by now. Kim Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Kim Kardashian! Lion shooting dentist, lion shooting dentist, lion shooting dentist! Beyonce twins, Beyonce twins, Beyonce twins!
