They don't exist. Ghost sightings/experiences are either hoaxes, hallucinations, hysteria, or explainable.
Common things like wailing/slamming doors etc...can be explained for example by air currents in houses.

What the wiki says
I can say right now my sleep was normal when I saw it in my grandma house

Explain black shadows then Pareidolia - the mind naturally creates the perception of something where only limited stimuli exists. I think this can logically explain 99% of (unfaked) supernatural experiences.

What the wiki says I can say right now my sleep was normal when I saw it in my grandma house Something meth addicts see during sleep deprivation? Sounds paranormal to me!!

What the wiki says I can say right now my sleep was normal when I saw it in my grandma house Well I'm afraid that one sounds legit, and extremely malevolent. You should avoid your grandmother's house, because there's no telling what that shadow spirit might do to you.

It might be your grandmother's house that's causing the problem. Do some research on it. Cold riveted girders with cores of pure selenium are known for attracting supernatural turbulence.

As an Atheist I don't believe in ghosts because I don't believe there is an afterlife for them to exist in.

Dr. Spangler? Back on topic, definitely something in it. When my grandfather died, many of his friends and people he was closest to in later life would say he visited them in their dreams to not worry about him. He had a broad group of friends from all walks of life (race, culture, varying religious beliefs) and most of them reported the same message in those dreams.

Dr. Spangler? Actually the way it was spelled was the Germanic Spengler. The "e" sounds like a short "a" in English. Anyways I'm convinced in 300 years we'll understand quantum mechinacs better and we'll see that supernatural stuff is just some thing much weirder than ghost stories.

I lived in a duplex which appeared to have been haunted. The 3 of us who lived there (and friends who visited) heard footsteps where no one was. My phone would turn on - dial and ring up my answering machine, which then blasted white noise before dialing someone programed on my phone. All while still plugged on the dock. I switched phone providers while there and nothing changed. It would do this at all hours of the day and night. The issue never happened in our previous apartment or the duplex we rented afterward. Another time we heard footsteps walk into the bathroom and the toilet flushed. Voices were also an occasional issue. --- A few years later I had a pretty crazy night at a haunted school: culturecrossfire.com/etc/unsolved-mysteries-wisconsin-first-ward-schoolhouse/

I am a firm believer in ghosts. Have I ever seen one? No, I haven't. I will say that I remember one day in particular where I was hanging out at one of my friends house outside, we were sitting on the porch, and I asked if I could use their bathroom. Now every one of us was outside on the porch and as I walked in proceeding to go upstairs, by the time I got near the bathroom, there was this eerie presence that I couldn't quite put my finger on for some reason.
Literally I felt as though I was being watched and the hairs on my neck started to stand up. There wasn't anyone in the house at the time but me, everyone was still outside. I opted to just use the bathroom at my house instead.
I've researched a lot about famous hauntings, spirits, and even lesser known events involving the paranormal. I do believe ghosts exist and reason being is that the claims are so outlandish that people risk ridicule just going public with it. I do believe that depending on the circumstances, the deceased energy stays at times, almost like being stuck and not able to move on, and that typically tends to explain in my opinion various hauntings.
