Looks good to me, no problems with the accent. Maybe it's because I'm from the UK?

This movie looks like hot garbage plain and simple. I am a huge Venom fan and this movie looks highly disappointing for so many reasons

That’s really among the worst trailers I’ve ever seen. Action looks like garbage, lines are cheesy rather than funny, and nothing about Hardy or Venom makes them seem likable. Marvel is setting themselves up for their first real bomb here. Hope Hardy asked for a big check up front, because I don’t think there’s going to be any profits or a sequel.

It's a Sony flick though, so Marvel has no worries. If anything, it potentially bombing would be good for them.

If it sucks ass they can point fingers at Sony, but to my mind they still share the blame. At this point one would think they have methods of executing quality control, and this just looks.... so, so bad.... ETA: In fact in getting Spider Man licensed they must have had business dealings recently. Maybe they never thought Sony would do something as stupid as make a Spider Man movie without Spider Man, but a clever lawyer should have closed that door, period. Avoid a “Best Of The Beatles” situation.

How can they share the blame though if they don't have much to do with it? Once those rights were signed away, there's not a whole lotta say they have over it.

I won't lie, I'm still way more interested in seeing this then I ever was in seeing Spider-Man: Homecoming. Now whether that's because I think this will genuinely be a good movie on some level or because I just want to watch a train wreck is still up in the air.

Seriously, Marvel have no input in this period. The rights don't have a quality control things written to it outside of not being able to just slap their characters on completely unrelated movies to keep the rights. The Spider-man rights to used in Marvel movies doesn't extend to the rest of the rights... and there was no way in hell Sony would budge on something like that clever marvel lawyer or not.

Avoid a “Best Of The Beatles” situation. Marvel sold the movie rights to almost their entire cast of characters back in the '90s just to stay in business. "Quality control" was almost certainly limited to "As long as you're not making porn with our IP, do whatever you want, just for God's sake give us the money before we go bankrupt." The deal with Spider-Man appearing in the MCU is essentially Marvel leasing their own character rights back from Sony. Sony can pull the plug at any point, not the other way around.

Yeah, Marvel doesn't sell the rights to a lot of their characters, they wouldn't be in business. Also, Spidey, the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and pretty much every other property they could afford, would be with DC.

Now whether that's because I think this will genuinely be a good movie on some level or because I just want to watch a train wreck is still up in the air. Same. There's a lot of ambiguity to this Venom movie. The sheer fact it's a Venom movie. The absence of Spider-Man to the mythos. The surprisingly strong cast. Sony. Could be a gem or a POS whereas with Homecoming (before &I after IMO) it's all pretty cut-and-dry.

I mean yeah unlike Deadpool if this started out Rated R no damn way they would continue with this if it ever did get to MCU
Tom Hardy is a great actor so def wouldn't want to recast someone else as Venom but it all depends if/when you can get him into the MCU at some point
