I don't remember the exact words but in a promo, they talked of HHH vs Sting being a long awaited dream match. I can think of at least ten guys I'd rather see battle Sting ten times each before I'd long for one with HHH.
On one of the latter Nitro's, Bobby Heenan talked of an upcoming personal appearance where he was sure the fans would be super eager to talk to him about the upcoming Sid vs Goldberg match. I highly doubt a single fan talked to him about anything other than the Brains career in wrestling, especially WWF. In Bobby's defense, I'm sure he knew he was spouting sheer bullshit.
Any other examples?

Nearly everything ever said by a WWE employee in any of their documentaries about WCW can be accurately applied to modern WWE.

"Ambrose took Lesnar to the limit" - said by an announcer on one of the post-Raw/SD WM shows
We saw that match. Ambrose took 13 Suplexes and 1 F5 onto chairs in order to be beaten, which is more than anybody else has taken in a Lesnar match. The issue is that the match sucked (due to Lesnar) and even though the story's passed off as "Ambrose took Lesnar to the limit and he lost through a grueling battle" it looks like Lesnar f***ed around with Ambrose for a few minutes before shutting him down. No amount of storytelling from any announcer can prevent how shitty he looked there.

Jerry Lawler going "Oh, it's only a few people" at Mania when the building was going apeshit for Miz.

I literally had to be reminded that Shane lost the Taker match.

"It's bizarro world, Maggle!"
This is my thing with that. You would think that those would be the last fans WWE would want to piss off. This are the ones who've spent a grand or more and endured insane flight times to see your product.

During NXT season 4, the season full of total nobodies that aired on WWE.com, I remember the announcer saying something like "I'm sure Snoop Dogg is watching and supporting Brodus Clay".
Bitch, please. Like Snoop would waste his time watching a totally irrelevant (Johnny Curtis "won" that series lol) web show just because a former bodyguard of his was on it.

Even though he got divorced cause HE cheated? Yeah, that made it extra dumb. Rock should have countered saying 'Hey, my divorce with my wife went so well, she's my agent! Shut up, John!'

Is No Mercy in Manchester on the Network? If not, we're missing one of the great heel lines of all time.
Shane McMahon: And tonight, Kane, Mideon is going to give you the beating of your life!
We replayed that bit to death as kids, laughing ourselves silly. That PPV is shit, but that line is hilarious.

"This is the most historic Royal Rumble ever!"
Spoken by Vince McMahon during the Royal Rumble 1994, as Adam Bomb was clobbering Sparky Plugg.

As is Capital Carnage 98, containing Vince's line: "......England is a cesspool of decadence, a cesspool of decay and debauchery. A cesspool that in all probability will be governed by a Prime Minister of Pakistani extraction!!! I thank you very much!"

The announcers hyped up John Cena vs Triple H at Night of Champions 2008 as "a moment in time".
