This morning I woke up with the worst headache I can remember having, and it's only on the right side of my head, where my shunt is.. I have been crying because I can't handle the pain, and can't open my right eye. My mom was going to bring me to the pediatrician she works for, since they're open every day, but he said I need to go to the hospital. I'm so nervous, sorry for the bummer thread

Everything is going to be okay! Just go to the doctor and let them do what they do best. You'll get though this. You just have to be tough like Dean Ambrose.

The doctor saw a lot of sinus stuff in my x-ray, and wants to admit me, so I'll be here all night. I just want to cry again.

You're stronger than you realize and you're going to make it through this, go home, and eat chocolate chips for breakfast, because you deserve it.

If I can go home tomorrow morning, I will, otherwise I'm having chocolate chips for lunch or dinner!

Just waiting for a room. My dad is going to bring me dinner. My job was open today, so I called and told my boss that I won't be in tomorrow. He offered me the week, if I felt I needed it.

Without getting into too much medical jargon, it's a method of treating hydrocephalus. Specifically, it's a thin tube inserted into one of the brain's ventricles to drain excessive cerebrospinal fluid. The tube is tunneled under the skin and the other end is typically placed in the stomach. Although, a doctor can also place it in the pleural cavity (near the lungs) or near the heart. Feel better, edgestar!
