Yeah, ok, whatever you say Mr. Pink. ... and I'm wrong because why? Because only Alaska, California, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington have laws that state you must pay a server at least the states min wage(Which can be higher then federal min wage). That means in 42 states(NY doesn't have a law but they pay more then minimum wage) servers make under min wage and only get by from tips. You being cheap and getting philosophical guidance from a movie from the 90s is not a good argument to f*** over others.

The way I get around tipping is I don't leave a tip if the service is awful, and if its medicore, my tip is always 1.01 (or lol) Your not funny and have probably eaten alot of nasty things if you ever returned to those places. ... and I'm wrong because why? You know this system and you choose to purposely do it to prove a point to nobody by LITERALLY taking money out of your servers out of your servers pocket. That's why your wrong. Don't eat out? That's fine then whatever but don't tell me that my job isn't real and I should get a new one. The system exists and some people really need to learn to deal with it as opposed to making social diatribes about why they really need that extra 7.95 themselves but not enough to make their own f***ing Steak at home. My Mom was waitress for 22 years and so Ik the struggle. She busted her ass doing doubles and working. Some people don't give af about their job and it shows. So you don't like it, deal with it. You get what you earn, not what your selfish entitled ass thinks. Customer Service 101, or did you miss that in training?

In an ideal world that would be true tip based off of performance and quality but studies of the real world practice show that tipping is often discriminatory or arbitrary: workers receive different levels of gratuity based on factors such as age, sex, race, hair color and even breast size, and the size of the gratuity is found to be only very weakly related to the quality of service.

Tipping culture is stupid but the fact of the matter is that when you are all "rah rah fight the power I refuse to tip", you are not doing anything useful to change it. Literally all you are doing is messing with your server/driver's ability to pay their rent to make your little stand. The boss doesn't care if the employee is happy. They aren't going to pay higher wages if the tips dry up. They are going to fire the staff or let them quit and find more desperate people to take their place.
It's a shitty cycle, but some of the anti-tippers out there who feel the best way to combat it is to punish the innocent employees who are taken advantage of, and respond to their problem with apathy and aggression, are in the end just being assholes.

Like seriously dude that 1.01 tip move is messed up, holy shit. You don't like tipping culture so your solution is to be actively mean to the employee stuck in that situation?
They do not stop being human beings just because they are serving you.

Matrix killed the trenchcoat. I've got one, had one for years but still often get a "Neo" joke. Feels more like Columbine killed the trenchcoat. whenever I see a guy wearing one I think "he's going for Neo and getting Silent Bob".

Women should be able to go topless, if they so please, in all the places where it's socially acceptable for men to do the same. It's legal in NYC. With some caveat like as long as you aren't doing it for advertising purposes.

I wish it was socially acceptable for me to punch jerks in the face. Nobody else should be allowed to do it, but I should be allowed to.

So they can be topless in New York City, but they can't write on their bare torso that the only thing more liberating than freeing the nipple is not having to deal with overage charges since they switched to (name of cell phone provider here)?

Calling rude customers "slap dicks." Calling out rude customers in general should not just be allowed, but encouraged. The customer is NOT always right and if the company can prove the customer wrong at any level, then the customer should shut up and go away.

I think the idea of public nudity is more appealing than the reality of it. Consider anything you might sit on that's not in your home (park benches, bus/subway/plane/train seats, any kind of chair, etc.) and then consider how pleasant those things would be with people sitting their bare asses on them. Not to mention bugs, constant sun screen, people staring, and how cold everything would be. Which, ironically, would have equally bad reactions for men and women.

Women should be able to go topless, if they so please, in all the places where it's socially acceptable for men to do the same. it's actually legal here in Ontario but women never do it because it tends to attract the usual dipshits you'd think it would. I wouldn't do it personally (I get anxious just showing my damn thighs in summer), but I would be all in support for women being topless in public if breasts weren't sexualised. You just know that some scum bag is gonna grope a woman and use the horrible "she was asking for it" excuse. I remember a while ago I read about somebody thinking he had the right to grab a woman's breast if she breastfed her baby in public...

Non monogamous relationships. I wish they were understood better. Too many people seem to think it comes down to either monogamy, not interested in dating, or just want to bang everyone and everything with no emotional involvement. Or that people who prefer non monogamy want EVERYONE to abandon monogamy. Or that all non monogamous situations are built on a foundation of cheating and/or deceit. (Seriously, SCREW people who insist on always referring to unconventional relationships as "cheating on each other" after being explicitly told everyone involved is knowingly consenting!) Personally, if I wasn't with my current boyfriend, my ideal situation would be friends with benefits. "Friends" is the key word here, NOT the same as booty calls. Which, if everyone involved is a a knowledgeable, willing participant, should be equally accepted. My best friend prefers a structure where he is involved with two women simultaneously, and they each are involved with him and, if they choose, one more person. Then of course there's all sorts of different types of open relationships, with all sorts of different rules. But really, instead of number of people involved, it should come down to honesty and consideration for the needs of each individual. I know, it seems like a silly thing to complain about, but I feel like the social pressure to only pursue monogamy or pursue nothing contributed to a lot of the emotional issues I deal with today. Repeatedly, I would get close to someone, only to be told some variation of "be my girlfriend, or lose me forever". And me being me, I would, because I can't stand to lose people, even toxic people. So I would date them, be unfulfilled, then eventually depressed. The best part was, almost every one of those guys who forced a monogamous relationship with me just ended up cheating on me relentlessly. And yeah, I said guys, because funny thing? In spite of the stereotypes, girls I liked never tried to guilt me into a monogamous relationship. They either were down to try it, or just expressed lack of interest and life moved on. To anyone who actually read this, thank you, and sorry for the rant. I just keep seeing all these memes all over social media "the older I get, the more I realize I don't want to go out and party, I just want to settle down with my partner" "how come no one just wants cuddle up and brace for the long haul, why does everyone want to just be playing?" etc. It makes me feel like society believes people like me should be vilified. And then I get depressed
