Yeh,Rollins injured Balor on the day Balor won the title, and for a long ass time. Now ,fair enough, people called for Rollins head and he is a bigger star. But there was no punishment Did.......did you see how he was booked for most of that HHH feud? I wonder if that was his punishment. Fair Enough

And let's be real here. This isn't a push. It's Bob Holly vs Brock or Bossman vs Big Show. The lowercard guy has NO shot at winning and is just there for a month to catch a quick loss that can in no way hurt them, while the main eventer then goes on to face real threats. I'll come back to you after Backlash alright?

I'd think the way Rollins has been booked for the past year was punishment enough.
Anyway I was there last night and the crowd was....not thrilled with this. It wasn't even actual heel heat, it was more of a groan worthy X-Pac Heat kind of deal. On the way out I overhead some guys making fun of the fact that Jinder Mahal was #1 contender. It's basically rewarding a guy for taking too much ICOPRO.
Honestly, Jinder made the least sense of anyone in that match to win. Ziggler sometimes gets his yearly mandatory fluke #1 contender wins, and he and Orton would probably be a decent match. Zayn just came over from Raw for a fresh start, and he and Orton would be a good match (instead the poor guy has taken the pin in both the U.S. and WWE title contender matches). Harper made the most sense given his previous storyline with Orton and I guess if you didn't want to do Harper then Rowan made some sense. Rowan was quite good in that 6 way I thought. Even freakin Mojo Rawley has been booked pretty well of late, winning the Andre battle royale and I think he also beat Mahal last week on TV.
I'm sick of this whole "WWE needs this guy for whatever market" nonsense. Jinder Mahal wouldn't draw money in India even if WWE went there on a tour. It's not like Mahabali Shera did for TNA when they went to India. If a guy sucks, he suck. Local fans could care less and if anything it is condescending to them. It's the equivalent of Bill Watts pushing random crappy black dudes in Mid-South after JYD left for the WWF.

He's also the guy with the least to lose from a quick ppv loss. Hell, booking wise he's at least as credible as Sami. The latter is way more talented, but just booking wise he loses just as much.
Rowan same deal.
I guess I'm struggling to understand the quibbling over who deserves to be a warm body to catch the proverbial L then fall back down the card. Reall want Ziggler to do that again?

I'm not surprised WWE are giving Jinder this shot. They have a f***ing insane amount of fans in India who would (and probably do) legit worship Jinder. This is true. However, if I were a fan in India, I might be inclined to ask why I'm still being subjected to this degree of tokenism when the UK, a country of only 60 million people, gets its own title (and program) with WWE and a live tournament to kick it off. If WWE truly wanted to make inroads into the Indian/Pakistani market, why isn't it doing the same to build the brand in India?

IMO I think Zayn should of won though & Orton would of then turned heel at Backlash & retained by kicking Zayn in the nuts & then RKO

After Jinder wins the title I can't wait for him to make the rounds on the talk shot circuit. He'll be the hottest property in Hollywood in no time.
Millions of people will be holding their palm up saying they come in peace. It'll be the new hip greeting. Holding your hand out for a handshake? Not today grandpa! I come in peace!

I have honestly never seen so many salty comments. Come on guys don't be so emotional. WWE is in desperate need of heels on both brands and this is a good way to build up a mid to upper level heel. Attitude era was the best as a product and the wrestling was awful with just mostly kicks and punches. Jinder is solid/average in the ring, his move set kinder sucks but he has improved a lot and has been doing well on the mic as of late and on talking smack. Wrestling is not about who deserves it and it never has been if you look back over the years at who got pushed and who was held back. You need to see the bigger picture as Orton is currenty face and a total bore might i add, what other heel could they use for him to face on Smackdown? They need to build new stars and thats the point of the brand split, to give someone a fresh start, yes Jinder has lost a couple of matches but he has always had some kind of interference. Wrestling needs story and characters to be insteresting and get you invested emotionally, if you just want straight wrestling and the best in ring people in your eyes then NJPW is probably a better product for you to watch. WWE is more of a show so you have to realise the bigger picture instead of just crapping on everything you don't agree with. I could list many wrestlers who are solid in the ring but i can't stand as a character/personality. Roman Reigns is a perfect exampe of that! I'm not here to bash anyone i'm just bringing another point of view and trying to get people to stop thinking so narrow minded. ECW went out of business for 1 main reason, they only catered to one demographic of the audience, the hardcore smarks which ultimately cost them their business because of that narrow tunnel vision.

If done right, you can book almost anyone as a legitimate threat.
However, with guys who have the talent level of Jinder Mahal, it will most likely suck.

If they were serious about it, of course it's possible. Take out some jobbers, smash shit up, generally be a monster heel. (Almost) anyone can be salvaged with enough effort.

Is he AJ Styles or Daniel Bryan? Of course not but I can't ever remember seeing a 'bad' Jinder Mahal match. He was also part of a pretty damn good 6 pack challenge last night that most people shit on before it happened due to who was in it, so I dunno, maybe just relax and see what happens.

While there are obviously more people in the Indian subcontinent, the average income is around $4,700 from the last time I saw figures. Plus, it's not like it'll encourage more Indian wrestlers; aside from cricket, sports and athletics are frowned upon in the culture. That's why the Olympic team is stuck in the Stone Age & a gymnast that finished 4th is regarded as the greatest athlete of all-time there. India will just be a novelty, nothing more.

So who injured Balor?
He seemed healthy enough to wrestle Curt Hawkins on Monday.

So who injured Balor? He seemed healthy enough to wrestle Curt Hawkins on Monday. Sure - in a match less than two minutes long where Hawkins did not perform one offensive move or hold. It made Finn look fragile and Hawkins look an absolute jobber; just so Jinder Mahal could look good in kayfabe for a jump to Smackdown.

Tired of xenophobia and racism. I hope he wins the title Is why people are clamoring for Sami Zayn and Syrian Canadian to be pushed?

Oh god, just recalled when Cena got to pick his opponent for Summerslam 2013 (of course, eventually Bryan) and surveyed the crowd to the prospect of choosing Jinder, only to be greeted the most collective example of "Oh, yeah. No."
How little we knew.

Have his opponent ignore him while standing two feet away from him while talking about a different opponent. That will make him look deadly! This was the thing last night. His heel promo was fine & Randy coming out to confront him should have involved Jinder getting the jump on him & laying him out. The feud is fine for this time of year & they are keeping Randy away from Styles, Owens, Corbin and Nakamura for now.

It made Finn look fragile and Hawkins look an absolute jobber; so, two things that are completely true.

I honestly think this is leading to an RKO pinfall in like 5 seconds. I'd more like to think he will be used for Randy to reintroduce the punt (and to sideline him for whatever mini-suspension he might have for nearly killing Balor). Just seems a bit weird that the most injury-prone champion would even agree to wrestle someone who botched a move literally no one ever did and was proven dangerous, so my guess would be he will be punted (weeks) before the ppv.
