Random question, some can't stand it because it itches, some may never want to be seen without it, but why is this FAN?
I've wanted to grow a mustache ever since I saw Groucho Marx as a kid, though his turned out to be greasepaint most of the time, I just knew I had to have it but generally wear a beard as it suits me better and although I might trim it to stubble often, I cannot bring myself to go clean shaven, unless it was for a certain occasion like Halloween

Couple of reasons.
I feel more comfortable with a beard than stubble or being clean shaven.
Beards and mustaches supposedly help alleviate airborne allergies, I guess helping keep some allergens out. That's a nifty bonus.
I think I look better with a beard, and frankly, most of the partners I have had seem to prefer beards to clean shaven. If I guess the sort of people I date like it more, and I like it more, why not look like Son of Havoc's secret cousin, Nephew of Havoc?

Too many patches for me to really pull it off. I went a few weeks without shaving for Mania so I could wear a KO cosplay, but it was never going to look right.
I've done a goatee in the past, and some sideburns when I was 19, but I'd rather just shave these days than worry about trimming it.

Mostly due to it being better for my skin.
Plus it makes me look older, balances out my longer hair and it's (probably?) better for my asthma.

I pretty much always have stubble. Even if I shave everyday, which I'm not gonna do, I'd still have stubble. I've grown a beard a couple of times, the last time it got completely out of control and I kept getting food in it. When I shaved it, it looked like someone threw a cat in the garbage can. Plus, getting there was mad itchy.
Stubble is the only happy medium.

My facial hair is a double edged sword. Ill go a good week with nothing more then stubble but after 2 weeks, it's kinda like Steve Austin's goatee and it starts to bug me.

I'd love to have a beard, unfortunately I can't grow anything other then a bunch of loose strands that go in all kinds of different directions. That's only on my chin and under my nose though. Can't grow anything on my cheeks at all.

Takes entirely too long to even get a good goatee going, much less a 'stache. I just get impatient.
Plus, dimples are like forty eight percent of what makes my face presentable, so covering em seems like a dumb idea.

For some reason my facial hair grows ridiculously fast if I don't shave for a week I could get a job as lumberjack model for a multi-state print and digital campaign so if I had my druthers I'd shave 2 to 3 times a year but it does make me look way older but if I want to show off my boyish charms as a special treat for the ladies I shave that sucker. Most women I've met are not fans of the beard but they need to learn that not everything's about them.

I have a habit of picking at my facial hair whenever it grows beyond stubble length. I'll be sitting at my computer and all of a sudden start running my thumb and index finder up and down the sides of my mouth and it's hard to stop. So essentially, I shave just to make myself stop touching my beard.

I've got sideburns and a goatee, as my avatar shows; without them, my face looks long and misshapen - in fact, it slightly resembles a footprint.
That said, my goatee isn't as bushy as illustrated here, but it does the trick to make my face look more compact.

Camouflage. When I am relaxed, the corners of my mouth turn down. (Resting bitch-face?) For years people would assume I was in a bad mood because of my natural facial expression. When I grew the moustache, my friends all said I looked happier. Easier than plastering a forced grin on my face.

It doesn't get itchy after week and a half or two weeks. Than again I have had a beard for nearly 3 years now. I just look good with a beard, I don't like shaving, and honestly I keep forgetting I have one. It's just a natural part of my face.

It's just to much work for me to take of and look good. When I did grow one I didn't take that good of care of it and looked like Tom Hanks in Cast Away. So I just shave every couple of days and wind up with Jim Lee drawing Batman stubble.

I really think beards are overrated.
Also I look like a hobo with one, so..
