NWA carried a name mainly because of the local wrestlers who toured the nwa affiliates. I used to shit on him a lot but I understood why Tim Storm did good business. Magnus is not that type of local champion, being a semi big name don’t mean shit. Marquez is a good local promoter in LA, but he’s not promoting in his home base. But he's not promoting, he's booking. If Jarrett and Corgan were promoting AND booking I'd be right there with you, but I'm willing to give this a chance. Marquez did more for the NWA title than anyone in decades. Marquez helped the nwa by endorsing Pearce and ending the relationship with tna. That being said Marquez only cared for his nwa affiliate and never for the overall health of the organization. I never claimed Bruce Tharpe to be a genius but he cared about the nwa so much that he sued and ended up owning the whole thing because of petty corruption. He also made the nwa profitable by making it a local Indy instead of Marquez wanting it to be a national promotion. The days of the nwa as a big name are gone and buried. It can only be a small draw in southern territories because of smart promoters and good local workers. Billy bringing in big names won’t draw shit.

It's also Jeff Jarrett in Nashville. Between that and Corgan having the cash to buy appropriate local advertising, they should have a full house. Jarrett ain’t a draw. He killed the Nashville fairgrounds. He also ran shows in baseball fields that nobody went to. The GFW show in Jackson drew at least 300 people. So more than nobody went to them.

So more than nobody went to them. A few things to keep in mind are that the days TNA did the most damage to the Nashville market were several years ago. They haven't been trying to run weekly shows with free admission there in a long time. Also, there have been shows at the Fairgrounds that have drawn well during the time since. Like, regular indie shows, drawing 1,000 people there. Not TNA or ROH level companies. Keep in mind, it's a small venue. Somewhere between 1,500 and 2,000 is a sellout there. Corgan will load it up with talent, and spend the money to get the word out that the show is happening locally. I stand by my prediction that when the show happens, it will be a full venue.

I am not one of the people that automatically hates on anything TNA/NWA/GFW does. Hell I want every fed to do good. More feds doing good the more places for wrestlers to work. There is a group running bi monthly lucha shows in the Memphis area at some Spanish Nightclub. And they draw at least 500 a show. But you never hear about them online. Just like there is feds all over the deep south area that draw good crowds but are never mentioned online. That is a major reason why groups like Bodyslam Media Productions and DIY Mississippi Filmworks got started. Cause we got tired of never hearing about the good indie wrestling happening in places like West Monroe LA or Sumrall MS or Chickasaw AL.

There was more than 1 GFW baseball stadium show. And it depends on what angle it was shot at on how much of the crowd you can see. The one I went to on the footage Bodyslam Media shot it looks like maybe 40 people are there. When there was,and I just asked someone that helped promote the show to get a accurate figure,309 people at the show. But really most wrestling events at baseball stadiums look empty. Cause of how they are set up.
