I will admit AAA can still draw crowds, despite being a complete dumpster fire. As far as NOAH, while they have been in decline for a while, they are in dangerous territory now as the new ownership seems to be a nightmare for them. For a while they have been able to at least maintain themselves as a clear #2 to New Japan in Japan, but now that isn't that the case at all. Infact, other companies are outdrawing them and one ironically being a reborn All Japan. I thought NOAH was owned by New Japan now? That's why Suzuki-Gun spent so long in NOAH, yes? NOAH couldn't afford booking Suzuki Gun, which is kind of key in a business deal where NJPW sent over Suzuki Gun to try and save NOAH

Vampiro's taking a page out of Dutch's book and claiming he know the real story of what happened. And if you check Cubsfan article today on his blog, a pro AAA guy named Leo is applauding them and saying Guerrero shouldn't press charges Think there is any chance Maximo and El Mascara make a jump? I know it's very rare in Mexico. Especially since it sounds like Guerrero is still going to be head of the union, just being delayed until December from the reports.

So he's been conned again? For some reason all I can picture is that gif of Corgan doing some promo dressed all crazy while saying he was president of TNA. It just seems to fit given the story.

That wasn't his promotion. It was run by (and, amazingly enough, also financed by) Jacques and Gabriel Baron. They just gave Corgan the book initially, and had him as the figurehead owner. The Barons and Corgan created that group out of spite when AAW in Chicago rejected Corgan's play for the book. The Barons had been doing some promotional work for AAW at the time, and decided to break away and let Corgan book for them, thinking it would generate a ton of publicity that would make them bigger than AAW. Their promotion still exists, drawing 1/4 of what AAW does, but Corgan is no longer involved.

So he's been conned again? TNA, NWA, what next? Getting con by Ian Rotten?

So he's been conned again? Not really, they've discovered a problem so the deal hasn't gone through and won't until it's resolved. While it eeems like a technicality after TNA I can't blame him for erring on the side of caution.

So he's been conned again? I guess it depends on how you look at it, given he got pretty much his money and then some that he put into TNA when Anthem tried to get cute and not pay. So they screwed him, but he also sorta broke even, which is more than people expected he's get out of TNA.

I noticed the trademark registration deal a few weeks ago (before Corgan did? lol) earlier in this thread when investigating the t-shirt thing. Looked like Tharpe tried to reinstate them once he knew he was selling. Oops!

Wouldn't it make sense to buy into Lucha Underground if it was possible, and try to expand? It's so hard to start your own wrestling business nowadays.

So you're telling me tat Bruce Tharpe let the NWA name lapse? A name that has been around since the 1940s, and a guy that worked so hard to basically run a hostile takeover just forgot the trademark for a year?
Jiminy Christmas.
