I'm pretty sure we said exactly the same thing when Corgan got involved with TNA. I'm looking forward to Corgan's future wrestling endeavour in 2018, buying the rights of 1PW from whatever 30 year old owns it now.

Lol dammit I didn't mean it that way but now I do. Someone dig up Eazy E zombie bones Billy in too late, after the value rose due to the movie. That's okay. He can still afford OG Loc from San Andreas. Of course he will not have Mad Dogs rhyme book

News to me...hopefully it'll go from a runny turd to a solid turd if this is true.
And I agree....get the belt off of Storm and put it on someone with a bit of recognition outside a few regional spots in Texas.

Corgan has been bumping around the wrestling world for a while now. Between his owning and initially helping book Revolution Pro with Raven, to his involvement with TNA and now this. I'll give him credit, he seems to be passionate about it and like he really wants to be apart of it. But after two failed attempts, I'm unsure he'll achieve anything beyond being a wallet for whatever promotion he's associated with.

Man, Triple H must be livid. He's been after this for years now. If he wanted it that much, he'd have it by now.

Now he needs to call Vince up and tell him he's "in the wrasslin' business."

Possession of the NWA title? Poor Billy, I'd pay more money to not also gain possession of that ugly thing.

Man, Triple H must be livid. He's been after this for years now. WWE should outbid him and buy the rights and belt. I think HHH has to wait till Vince is dead before be can buy the NWA and finally win the title he has been dreaming about since he was a child. Seriously WWE should buy the NWA turn NXT into NWA: NXT and maybe buy ROH and few others and make them part of the NWA and recreate the territories as a nation wide developmental system for the WWE.

I don't know why, but I just feel like Corgan is somehow going to surprise us with this.
For starters, I don't see the guy allowing just ANYONE to be an NWA affiliate anymore. Corgan is a lifelong fan, and old enough to really remember when the NWA actually meant something. He's going to want to return prestige to the NWA. He has a long way to go, but I suspect he's going to start by cutting a lot of dead weight. Expect a MASSIVE purge of terrible NWA promotions soon.

Really on the subject of Corgan, more power to him and he's clearly passionate about this so I hope he succeeds on that level, but dude's TNA work was absolutely terrible.

Yeah the first show under him had MVP dropping the N word as well as that Cop incident in the first segment, what little interest I had in him went out the window after that. One half of the current NWA Tag Champs is Japanese, are they going to start calling him racist words as well now?

Here's what Corgan bought: The name NWA (which can't even be trademarked for things like clothing as the music NWA already holds that trademark) A belt that was made in recent years and has almost zero connection to any of the "legendary" NWA title holders. Any footage Tharpe actually owns - which means any footage from Tharpe's own indy feds from the last few years, not the licensed stuff like Houston they're playing on their in-demand channel or any of the "franchises" that are part of the current NWA - and this is a maybe because Tharpe may have the indy fed(s) and their footage under a different business name/entity. That's it. That is literally everything that comprises the NWA now. There is nothing else. He bought a name and a vague concept that doesn't really work these days. He doesn't get any of the old NWA footage - McMahon has most of it and whatever's left Corgan would have to shell out more money to own, as opposed to leasing it like Tharpe did. He doesn't get any talent or crew or production equipment or anything. Corgan has been bumping around the wrestling world for a while now. Between his owning and initially helping book Revolution Pro with Raven, to his involvement with TNA and now this. Been around longer than that - did angles in the original ECW (and Heyman even tried to sucker him into investing) and had some on-screen appearances in-crowd on WWE/WWF shows around the Attitude Era.

I was about to say he should turn around and sell Houston Wrestling tapes to WWE, but he does not own them.

He doesn't get any talent or crew or production equipment or anything. But, on the other side, you also have to compare that to what Corgan, himself, had before this: The name and belt mean nothing now, but if Corgan uses it to make his own promotion, suddenly he has the best name available and a title that somehow means something in Mexico and Japan. Corgan also has the biggest thing in his willingness to book top tier talents, and THAT is what killed Tharpe's NWA dead. The champion makes the title as much as the title makes the champion- and getting the belt out of the hands of guys like Tim Storm and into the hands of top indy standouts or big-name WWE or TNA alumni will do more to bring the NWA World Title back than anything else would.
