It legitimately can't be overstated how much he meant to the character of Batman and thus pop culture as a whole. Pre the tv show, Batman was on the verge of no lie being straight up canceled.
He saved the Caped Crusader.

While everyone is (rightfully) bringing up his role as the Gray Ghost in BTAS, I feel it would be very remiss of us not to also call attention to his role as Thomas Wayne in the excellent(and my personal favorite episode of the series) "Chill of the Night" from Batman: The Brave & the Bold: My favorite thing about that is that the Spectre was played by Kevin Conroy. In other words, Batman took Batman back in time to meet Batman.

So I watched Grey Ghost last night...most of the attraction was indeed Conroy and West interacting. Did I miss something or was it explained how they knew it was the Toy Collector and not Simon, despite the fingerprints?
And those toy cars...

West's passing ensures that Family Guy is either going to have a new anonymous mayor who will not be seen or heard or they find another celeb to voice Mayor (Insert name of celeb voicing character)
By the way, are there episodes that haven't aired yet with Mayor Adam West in it?

He helped to save the Batman franchise in the 60s, and he was a part of one my favorite Animated Series episodes as the Grey Ghost. He was also as much of a character in real life as he was on screen as well.
R.I.P.

Does anyone know if his voice work on the animated feature with Shatner was finished?

Does anyone know if his voice work on the animated feature with Shatner was finished? IMDB has it listed as post-production. I'm pretty sad that any chance of further adventures are over. Was hoping for a Justice League esqe movie with a 50's esqe Superman and Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman or maybe even a Crisis film where he's thrusted into the DCAU and Kevin Conroy's Batman is sent into the 60s verse.

Does anyone know if his voice work on the animated feature with Shatner was finished? I hope so. It'd be a shame for it to go unfinished, in part since the first one was fantastic.

I mean, voice work is usually done well in advance to make the animation easier to do so it's not something to rule out.

I'll just use my Bat mourning spray. RIP Adam West. Thanks for the laughs.

Does anyone know if his voice work on the animated feature with Shatner was finished? I was looking for that last night, and apparently he had - someone asked a question, then updated with a confirmation, citing a mention in Gizmodo's obit. io9.gizmodo.com/rip-adam-west-tvs-batman-1795984530

In keeping with the spirit of E3 this week, I found this piece that Adam West wrote about gaming back in 1983.

I personally would be ok with them using a soundalike actor to continue Sixties animated.

I personally would be ok with them using a soundalike actor to continue Sixties animated. So would I, actually. The basic intention of the series in general, as they talked about, was to be able to do new stuff in that universe and whilst I would have loved the idea someone mentioned of doing a Justice League with older properties, using Adam was always going to be something short term in case his voice went out or he couldn't act the same way. It isn't even like they couldn't find one, considering the great job they did in finding soundalikes for everyone else.

I disagree with this it wouldn't be the same without Adam West and Burt Ward providing the voices for Batman and Robin in these movies. That was one the things that people were most looking forward to seeing when it was announced that these movies were going to be made. And it's hardly a suprise when you think about it because the first movie was the first time that they had worked together in any DC Comics media since the 70's. They actually provided the voices for Batman and Robin in a Batman cartoon in the 70's. If anyone's interested in seeing it it was called The New Adventures of Batman.

This season is over. Did they start working on the next? I am predicting Burt Ward becomes mayor next. As for the question of sound-alikes should they do any more '66 Batman projects, or maybe even a sub for the FG voice...the guy who did Blue Falcon in the recent Scooby-Doo crossover movie would be good, as I thought it was West at first.
