For me, this ranks right down there with the footage from when they wound up on TNN

WWECW should have been NXT from the start.

WWECW is one of those things for me that, watching week to week to get a little bleh, but now that you can watch it all in bulk, I'm pretty excited about. Actually if it just didn't have that ECW name attached to it and it were called something else, people probably wouldn't have been so harsh about it.

Looking forward to some of the shows, I liked the Punk vs. Morrison match from the 9/4/07 ECW show, and have wanted to see the TV taping at the Hammerstein again from 8/1/06 for sometime now. Both quality events - I was at Punk's title win (they recorded ECW first that night, IIRC) and my friend and I joked we could go home after that match because they weren't topping it that night

I mainly remember some guy used to post here in the ECW ratings thread every week: "LOL @ ECW ratings"
Fun show though.
I'm waiting for NXT the game show to be on the Network. If it's already on there let me know, because that was on some other level type shit. Titus O'Neal busting his while trying to race a beer keg around the ring is some of the funniest shit that I've ever seen.

I really enjoyed WWECW, thought it got way too much criticism and hate than it deserved. The CM Punk-Morrison feud was really fun. Had it been called anything else I think it would have been better accepted. It deserved shit during the beginning. They actually tried to market it's importance but they added in bunch of weird Vince'isms that alienated the original fanbase and failed to draw in new viewers. It was only when they stopped giving a shit about it and turned it into the precursor of NXT of being a place to debut new talent before putting them on a major brand or a place where veterans can revitalize their careers or give something to do for lower midcarders it became great. Which seemed to happen around right after Lashley got drafted to Raw.

I've never really got the "WWECW" thing. WWE bought the name. It is for all intents and purposes ECW.
I dug it. Shame that he was like 90 percent gimmick and Ariel, since for a time, Kevin Thorn had a great look. So of course the natural thing to do was to fire Shelly Martinez and completely wreck it.

Nice, I remember there were some good matches. And I think this is where gold standard Shelton premiered

I believe Benjamin was in ECW when it got repackaged to game show NXT, having had one of the last PPV title shots (against Christian at TLC 2009).

It's mostly to distinguish between eras. But also for me at least ECW closed down for some time and was not brought in right away like WCW was. In my Mind the wwe guys WCW championships that where won count in wcw history but the ECW championship in the WWECW era don't count in the same history

I'm sure this will shock no one, but the 6/26/07 episode does NOT include Vince's prerecorded speech. I can't say I'm too surprised. And, check this out: ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170710/128d8327e8e894cea8ea279de6857f94.jpg) It's not EXACTLY our abbreviation, but pretty close!

I think the only edits they said are happening is that there's a couple music tracks being different and they edited out one line of commentary about Benoit. Otherwise, mostly everything is here as its original form. All of the graphic stuff (I.e. Hardcore Holly slicing his back) is in full. The Extreme Strip Poker episode is untouched. Interesting to see.

I'm glad they also put up the WWE/ECW Special that aired right before ECW ONS 2006.
The 2/27 show where Lashley jumps through the cage onto Umaga is up as well, thought that was a cool spot and surprised no one has done it since.
