Are the fan chants intact? They are mostly. You hear them when they start, but get muted, though I can't remember if that happened as it aired too. Is that Batista vs big show ? It is, but that's not even the reason. They showed Mike Knox hitting Kelly with a kendo stick and just being an asshole boyfriend. Given what's going on with Paige and Alberto, it struck a bit of a nerve. Also the chants aimed at Kelly are hard to hear. Knowing she was only 19 and had been there barely 2 months and hearing what these fans were yelling at her is just very unsettling. Then Dreamer, bleeding heavily puts her over his knee and spanks her way more than you'd think he would. I actually cheered when the Bashams ran in and beat the hell out of him lol. Is this the hardcore match with Knox and Test vs. Sandman and Dreamer? Because that's a f***ing cool match from what I remember, and exactly what ECW should have been doing.

I'm through the first 6 episodes and hindsight always being 20/20, there was a lot of potential for this brand to be something awesome. At the time, I was expecting original ECW and was a huge fan of the original so I instantly blindly hated this and pretty much checked out right away. But watching this back, some takeaways:
Paul Heyman's turn...it was the right kind of heat for him to slap the original ECW fans in the face and refer to them as his children. Watching it back, I like it.
Big Show isn't terrible as ECW Champ but I wonder if RVD would have got a longer reign if not for the circumstances. Nonetheless, eventhough it was a really good match I am not sure why they bring Ric Flair in to challenge for the title on episode 5. It doesn't make sense. Why not have Show start running through guys on the actual roster?
They were really spotlighting Sabu and putting him in Extreme Rules matches was at least one novelty for the old school ECW fans.
I have no problem, looking back, with any of the new (to ECW) talent they brought in. Mike Knox, Test, Angle, Kevin Thorn, CM Punk.. they obviously needed new talent and couldn't really on the originals so jobbing the originals out to the new guys.. I get it now. At the time, I hated it and didn't get it.
The commentary is decent, I like Joey taking jabs at the other commentators from Raw and Smackdown.
I feel like it was widely regarded as a flop, at least initially, and looking back if there were just some minor tweaks this may have been really special. Although, it may have been lose-lose because original ECW fans like me were going to hate this instantly and your typical WWE fans at the time were probably content with just Raw and Smackdown. Anyways, I'm enjoying going through these

I thought the tag match with Dreamer/Sandman vs. Test/Knox was great also, didn't think it was all that bothersome or offensive myself, but to each their own.
I liked the rise of CM Punk and it took a while for me but I grew to like John Morrison once he changed his name from Nitro.
Looking back at it, if you don't compare it to the old ECW it's a fairly decent show,IMO.

For a one off I found Zombie (R.I.P in real life) an entertaining character "The Zombie is not a presentation of ECW OR Sci-Fi!" "ERRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!" "That's riveting stuff, right there."

Soooo are they not planning on adding the rest of '09, and up until February 2010 when NXT started? Pretty random to stop where they did.

To be fair, the near 3 years worth of content being dropped all at once was probably the biggest one day upload in Network history. I'm guessing the remaining 11 months will get added next month.

I'm so glad they added WWE vs ECW Head To Head with this. It's one of those random shows I like watching, and I'm sick of shitty bootlegs.

They are currently in the process of uploading more episode from 2009. Word going around is they add the remaining episodes (March 2009 - February 2010) over the next couple of days and then start to add the shows successor: (Pre-Full Sail) NXT

It's weird that most of the originals were jobbers but Balls Mahoney was pushed and protected at the start.

So we're getting the "Game Show NXT" as well? I kind of dug that to be honest (well, aside from Cole's inexplicable hatred for Bryan).

I never got to watch any of WWECW and got an offer for 3 free months, so I'm going to watch this straight through(hopefully.) I have to admire how much work Big Show has done to get himself in better shape, the difference between this time period and his current state is amazing, especially considering he'd already been wrestling for nearly a decade in 06(more or less) and it's 11 years later.

Well the weirdest thing about it is that in 2006, at the fattest and most broken down he's ever been, Big Show had the hottest run of his career in ECW as champion. He was having his most consistent match quality, great promos, lots of heat, and carrying the ECW brand on his shoulders. Then guys like Sandman tell you that when the cameras were off, he was a f***ing wreck.

Not to mention how unappreciated that run was at the time because the new ECW wasn't exactly like the old one, therefore it was automatically bad.

The only thing I have seen in the past years from the period involving Big Show was the Taboo Tuesday 2006 show with the Champion of Champions match John Cena vs. King Booker vs. Big Show. And Big Show looked to be in pretty terrible shape in that match like he would rather be at home resting than being in a ring. Makes sense now that there was a sequence where Cena/Booker took him out so he could rest on the floor.

Yeah, I'm going slowly, so I just watched the episode earlier where he fought Flair and he looked friggen exhausted. I really like the finisher he was using at the time, though...a lot more than the damn knockout punch. This brings me to another point about the show - I completely understand having the debuting wrestlers, and even the ECW originals that strictly WWE fans may not have been familiar with, do the "If you don't know me, I'm..." promos, but who in their right mind thought that ANYONE watching that show would need that type of introduction promo from Ric WooGoddamnWoo Flair?!
