Sweet didn't expect the ECW episodes to keep Drowning Pool "Bodies" in the intro.
Did they buy a lifelong agreement from Drowning Pool for the license to that song in the early 2000s? LOL

I started with the 8th episode, the first from the Hammerstein Ballroom. Boy I picked the wrong episode to start with.

At first glance it's easy to dismiss WWECW as a terrible idea, but if you dig through those 2006-07 shows there's a ton of great stuff on them. That said even some of the great matches there have a hint of sadness to them, like RVD/Holly or RVD/Test during the time after the weed bust when Van Dam was busting his ass to have great matches and the company was never going to push him again. I'd stop around the time Benoit was drafted to ECW. We don't need to be reminded of what happened with him shortly after it. Chris Benoit being a piece of shit isn't going to stop me from enjoying the hard work of all the other wrestlers. Besides, wasn't he only on like one goddamn episode?

I rewatched the chase to no mercy. They should've had Stevie win.

For a one off I found Zombie (R.I.P in real life) an entertaining character

Chris Benoit being a piece of shit isn't going to stop me from enjoying the hard work of all the other wrestlers. Besides, wasn't he only on like one goddamn episode? Literally 2 episodes. His first show he tag teams with Punk, the next week he beats Burke for a spot in the ECW title match at Vengeance, and later that show he comes out for a staredown with Punk. That's literally all the Benoit there is on WWECW.

For a one off I found Zombie (R.I.P in real life) an entertaining character And he got a lot of mileage out of it on indies, obviously. Even though he wanted to do something different and wrestle under his real name (withheld out of respect) or as Tim Arson again.

He was literally 4 days away from killing Nancy, and he was just the same calm, cool, collected, and intense Benoit. Nothing seemed different from any other week, not even looking back at the show now.

You hear them when they start, but get muted, though I can't remember if that happened as it aired too. I started with the 8th episode, the first from the Hammerstein Ballroom. Boy I picked the wrong episode to start with. Is that Batista vs big show ? It is, but that's not even the reason. They showed Mike Knox hitting Kelly with a kendo stick and just being an asshole boyfriend. Given what's going on with Paige and Alberto, it struck a bit of a nerve. Also the chants aimed at Kelly are hard to hear. Knowing she was only 19 and had been there barely 2 months and hearing what these fans were yelling at her is just very unsettling. Then Dreamer, bleeding heavily puts her over his knee and spanks her way more than you'd think he would. I actually cheered when the Bashams ran in and beat the hell out of him lol.

He was competent still on stage for the most part, and when I think of someone being out of control, I think of one flash of rage not something planned out over days. But let's not make this into another one of those threads.

They got tons of heat with Big Show's title win on the 7/4/06 ECW show from Philly, too bad RVD/Sabu got busted which put any plans into disarray.

That's because the bust was the weekend before - I'm betting it's the same speed trap I hit on my way to that house show Oh I know why it happened, just saying it was a shame it happened as RVD was doing pretty good as ECW champion, had a hell of a match with Kurt as I recall on one of the shows. I didn't mind Show as ECW champion if the end game was to put the belt back on RVD or Sabu or even a wildcard like CM Punk.
