Round 2 Episode 1 thoughts:
WOW, that was a solid hour of wrestling right there!
* Laith/Evers was a hard hitting match that rightfully deserved the chants it got. Evers proved that she was dealt a bad hand in the first round and delivered a great match with an equally talented Laith. There's something special about Abbey Laith; she has her fans but is not coming in with the overwhelming buzz that Storm/LaRae/Sane are getting. She also doesn't posses that larger than life superstar quality either, but she has that every-woman Plain Jane appeal in her favor and I just want to keep pulling for her. She's sort of like a Daniel Bryan of sorts.
* Deeb/Nivens was amazing! I swear, if Tamina and Nia weren't related to The Rock we'd have the more talented MYC hosses like Nivens up there wrecking shit. Deeb played the underdog role great and Nivens is a powerhouse. Great chemistry between the two.
* Sugehit/Martinez might have been the weakest match of the episode but still really good and didn't get the reception it deserved because they're not quite as popular as the rest of the entrants. They would both be great at playing the grizzled veteran role on the roster if they are signed.
* Belair VS Sane was match of the episode for me. Belair has been wrestling for less than a year but it feels like she has at least 5 or 6 years under her belt. She's got a unique arsenal and great facial expressions. She played the upstart heel role to perfection and I honestly thought she might have won as I didn't read the spoilers. She's got a bright future ahead of her. And Kairi is of course Kairi. On to the next episode!

I didn't catch the CWC. Was Triple H there giving roses to TJP when he won in the semifinals?

Evers, Belair and Blanchard really impressed me in this tournament, despite the fact that the most experienced of them (Blanchard) debuted back in 2014. I know that Belair is signed to an NXT deal right now, and I hope that the same can be said about Rachel and Tessa.

Blanchard is something else. Not the best worker in the world but so composed and knows what she's doing like someone with a decade of experience. Boldly speaking on my end, and in terms of second generation stars, she's Richie Steamboat if Richie didn't get injured as young as he did.

They've gotta have Candice signed, just haven't announced it. They used her to get massive heat on Shayna with refusing to relinquish the choke, and the kick after the match. Maybe they're just building to Baszler vs. Johnny. RIP Johnny It's found out that Tomaso paid Baszler to hurt LaRae.

Only through the first round two episode so far, but jesus, Bianca Belair is only a year in the game, and she just looks and carries herself like a star. Great match with Kairi Sane. Both have a bright future.

Episode 6 thoughts: Eh, wasn't quite as strong as the first two rounds as I felt like the match-ups were a bit of a formality as I could tell who was going to win on paper. * Storm VS Evans had potential to be good but it was such a one-sided affair which was odd. Evans is realy talented and has tons of upside. She was also promoted heavily and she looks and carries herself like a dominant alpha female. Basically she's Liberty Belle from GLOW so it was odd to see her bump around so much and look like a doofus for the much younger and smaller Toni Storm. * Mia Yim VS Shayna Bazler is my favorite match thus far. Bazler is the undisputed heel of this tournament. I hate everything about her. I hate her mouthguard, I hate her arrogant smirk, I hate her MMA posse flexing at ringside and disrespecting the fans. Maybe she's a nice person in real life but damn I hate her character. Full Sail is going to burn the building down if she demolishes LaRae (about to watch episode 3). Mia Yim was great in this match and she played the underdog really well. I hope to see more of her in the WWE. Dakota Kai VS Rhea Ripley was ehhh. Both of them are talented and both have great futures but they were so similar to one another which was a bit of a distraction because the tournament so far was all a bout highlighting opposites attracting. Still, good match though. *Nicole Savoy VS Candice LaRae was surprisingly really good since there's nothing immediately remarkable about Savoy. She's a great wrestler but I hope she's signed to NXT and develops a good character. She's got great offense and really hung in there nicely with LaRae. And of course Candice is Candice.....she's going to die in the next episode sin't she?

Ripley, Bianca and Lacey, with time and work, can be next batch of women stars for the WWE. I thought it was really solid putting them up against good opponents too. All three were definitely impressive though.

I really wish the WWE Network THUMBNAILS would not ruin episode 7 for me based on what I saw on the image for episode 8....geez.

Lacey Evans GETS wrestling, which is fun to see. I'll react more to this episode when I'm finished with it, but just wanted to get that out there. Love her costumes/gimmick.

Episode 7 thoughts:
* Martinez VS Laith was good though a bit underwhelming considering the talent involved. Both were really good but I think Laith should have kept her underdog streak running. That said Martinez VS Bazler should be a good prison-style brawl.
* Bazler VS LaRae was every bit the massacre I imagined it to be. It was a quick match that saw Candace ger her licks in but she was ultimately killed off in merciless fashion. All parties (including Gargano) played their parts very well. Bazler is an extraordinary heel and I really want to see her get her comeuppance.
* Storm VS Niven was match of the night for me (so far). The chain wrestling exchange and cheesy taunts were SNK levels of showboating. I loved it. Niven continues to show so much diversity and Storm is just plan awesome.
* Kai VS Sane was good but it was also a bit underwhelming considering the talent involved. Kai's ultimate strength is her cute underdog appeal which is only eclipsed by the person she faced off against which didn't bode well for her. It felt like a formality that Sane was going to win and the match felt that way as well. But still, great effort and Kai could be what the WWE wanted in Bayley (assuming they also don't screw her up).
About to watch the semifinals and I can already sense Storm VS Sane being the best match of the tourney thus far.
