We don't have the budget for pyro or Emma in WWE tho. Whatever this "Alpha Entertainment" is, it's apparently a entirely new company and not a division of WWE like the XFL was. I'd be curious to see how this plays out. On the one hand, it seems like Vince would be hedging his bets with a separate company for the XFL. On the other hand, this could be the beginnings of the slippery slope that leads to Vince taking WWE private again, pulling it under the Alpha Entertainment umbrella.

I'm interested to see where this goes and hope it succeeds. Not sure why people are so thirsty to see others fail, but I'm all for new businesses arising and giving employment to people. Maybe one day I can proudly walk the halls of Alpha Entertainment with my chest puffed up..

I really don't feel like going through 6 pages to see if anyone else said what I want to say. With that out of the way...
I actually really really like the idea of an NFL D-League like the NBA and MLB and NHL have (to extents). Set up teams in cities near where the main team is...only problem is I don't think a 32 team d-league in football would work. Maybe have 16 teams and each team represents two NFL teams. Maybe rivals. Like Milwaukee can have a team with reps for the Packers and Bears.
I dunno...I just like the idea.

Wouldn't we want WWE to go private again so they can improve the show without worrying about shareholders?

If you exclude the WWE, Vince is one of the worst businessmen of all time.
Quite literally all of his non WWE business ventures have been a disaster.

I hope this time XFL is another WWE brand, so sometimes wrestlers might go from NXT to WWE, from Raw to Smackdown, or from Smackdown to football.

I actually feel sorry for Vince. He is possessed with ways of making money, he can't help himself. It's like he's addicted to business.

And I've come up with a theory. You know we all talk about how Vince seems to be ashamed of being a "rasslin'" promoter, it's even been brought up earlier in the thread. Yet, every time he tries a new venture, he immediately resorts to running it like a wrestling promotion. I mean, who besides Vince has ever thought, "Well, this bodybuilding competition is alright, but do you know what would really make this awesome? Storylines!" So, Vince gets caught in this vicious cycle where he wants to make his wrestling promotion as un-wrestling-like as possible, while turning everything else into wrestling. And it all suffers in the long run.

I don't get the reference.. The usual "animated short before a Pixar movie" for Coco was just a 22 minute Olaf special that was actually something for TV they repurposed to use in front of Coco. But instead of a short it was the length of a f***ing TV episode, and people responded so poorly to it that some theaters were even advertising showtimes for Coco based on when the short would be over so that people didn't have to sit through it. Ah okay, thanks for clearing that up!

Wouldn't we want WWE to go private again so they can improve the show without worrying about shareholders? The only shareholders whose input is even considered would be the members of the McMahon family. The "common stock" holders might as well wish in one hand, shit in the other and see which hand fills up first. I think the darker plan at work is similar to that of WCW - only this time the 'rasslin' bizness props up the other ventures until they can stand on their own feet and become more profitable than the 'rasslin', then Vince can either spin off the 'rasslin' operations or kill WWE via a thousand cuts. Vince has a strange sense of shame about his fortune coming from pro wrestling and wants to become an entertainment mogul - he's been that way ever since the 1980s, if not longer.

It is a terrible time to get involved in football, as I think modern football as we know it today is closer to coming to an end. It is just too dangerous of a sport, plus the issues going on with the NFL. Basketball is the sport that probably could see a second professional league independent of the NBA thrive in my opinion.

I keep thinking... with the name Alpha and Vince being a 70 year old ripped guy, and he's going into the supplement/nutrition/chemistry business.

The XFL actually never ended. They just took a page from the olympics and compete every 18 years.

Well I learnt that Vince McMahon promoted the Rolling Stones most recent reunion tour from Chris Jericho's new book. And it was a success
Maybe it's fingers in lots of pies - sports, music etc.
