Next poll will be between New Jack and Stone Cold. They can both kick ass when they need to, they both are hardcore brawlers and management has had problems with both of them in the past. Such a tough call to decide

Del Rio or 1996/7 HBK might've been a closer poll.

With Punk, there would be uncertainty about when he will just up and leave. I don't recall Del Rio having many issues in WWE besides standing up to an employee making racist comments towards him. I can see how peoples opinions are skewed because of Del Rio's alleged domestic abuse, but it's somehow turned into him being a guy who goes around picking fights with everyone backstage for some reason. You're comparing a guy who left because of a major medical issue that was completely ignored by the office to a guy who got fired, badmouthed the company almost nonstop for a year, came running back at the first opportunity, immediately looked unmotivated, developed a drug problem, led a woman almost half his age into similar drug problems, quit because he was suspended for said drug problems, went right back to badmouthing the company, and publicly tried to pick fights with a number of WWE performers and officials. Alberto's alleged domestic abuse isn't even the start of where people's opinions of him nosedived.

Punk is a fake tough guy and inoffensive, Alberto gets in fights and sometimes knives are used. I'm taking Punk.

Alberto's alleged domestic abuse isn't even the start of where people's opinions of him nosedived. Del Rio was rightfully unmotivated after being a hero in Mexico and selling out to be involved in that ridiculously idiotic Mexamerica angle. Punk wasn't just let go because of an untreated medical reason. The guy didn't get his way and became a nuisance. Despite Del Rio being brought back to flounder, he at least put on some good matches. I'm not saying I like either guy coming back, just mentioning who I believe would be a better choice if I was forced to pick.

I'm not saying I like either guy coming back, just mentioning who I believe would be a better choice if I was forced to pick. Punk was a nuisance, sure, but the final straw for him was the medical reason. Without that happening he likely would've worked out his contract, taken some time off, and returned after recharging his batteries the same way Jericho periodically does. Also, you can't criticise him for getting pissed over not getting his way and then give Alberto a pass for the same reason. Say what you will about Punk, but even when he was pissed off he still put the work in, which is why when he walked people were surprised and thought it was a work. When Alberto walked after failing Wellness nobody was surprised, because he'd been half-assing the entire run. And aside from a Kallisto match I can't remember any matches from Alberto's last run that pass as being any good.

I would honestly prefer Del Rio because he at least can consistently put on a good match. Worst of all, Punk only does a good job when he feels like it. Del Rio, as lame as his booking was, at least put on good to great matches consistently. No, all those reports about him getting into fights with wrestlers and ghost hobos predated the domestic abuse allegations. Reports of his drug habit and WWE being worried about him being a terrible presence in the locker room predate him being fired and all of the shit that came with it. Del Rio had huge issues, and if the worst Punk can do is leave one day, then if I were someone else in the locker room, that'd be a whole lot better than "attacked because I looked at his girl wrong"

I know people say ADR is better in other companies, but I can't imagine any sane man would ever want to see him in WWE ever again.

If, and it's a HUGE IF, he got himself clean, like an extended period in rehab (not just drugs, as much of that is alleged I believe, but work on his attitude etc), did a load of very contrite interviews and over time demonstrated he had his head on straight, I'd be more than happy to see him back. Even then I'd keep him on a separate brand from Paige and have it in his contract that they have to keep away from each other. THEN, I'd like to see him back.

Not to mention the fact that Del Rio has no-showed events for multiple companies at this point, so he's proven to be less reliable than Punk in that regard as well.

Punk...any day Punk...but this doesn't account for the fact that Punk would probably be a hell of a lot happier in today's WWE

So with everyone saying Punk would be happier now. What made him not happy in 2013-14 and to an extent 2011?
I'm not so sure I buy that because the same people who didn't make him happy, HHH, Vince and Amann are all still there. Has anyone who akde Punk unhappy left WWE the last 4 years?

So with everyone saying Punk would be happier now. What made him not happy in 2013-14 and to an extent 2011? In 2013-4 he was wrestling hurt and had an undiagnosed MRSA the entire time that was making him ill. Here's a linkto information on what that shit can do to you. In 2011 what become the Summer of Punk was basically Punk getting frustrated over being overlooked. Punk and Daniel Bryan were two of the most organically over individuals in WWE but neither were getting much respect from the brass. CM Punk will not return to WWE; not as long as a McMahon or a Levesque is in charge. He could return to the indies and make one of them the next viable competitor to WWE, but that's not panned out yet and it's been three years or more. Punk was a pearl that Vince threw away.

I could see Punk returning for Vince. He and Vince really aren't so different from each other, Vince showed genuine sadness when Punk left, and as angry as he was with him at the time I don't think Punk holds anything against Vince personally. Triple H on the other hand, no way. Punk quite evidently despises the man, holds him personally responsible for stalling his push in 2011 and making sure Punk found out he was fired on his wedding day, and even if Triple H got down on his knees and begged I don't believe Punk would consider returning for a second. But that will never happen as Triple H is no fonder of Punk than Punk is of him.

What does he have to gain by "sabotaging" Punk at that time? Stupid insecure man. And this is why I'll never truly be on the HHH running the company after Vince bandwagon. Man has his petty grudges too.
