www.prowrestlingsheet.com/womens-rumble-left-dark-wwe/Apparently the female wrestlers weren’t told anything about this announcement beforehand, so the on-screen announcement was their first time hearing that they’re doing the all-women Rumble and these were genuine reactions. Doesn’t justify it as it pertains to preserving a storyline narrative, but still cool. Bryan Alvarez just denied this on Wrestling Observer Live and said that, at the very least, the Raw women did know before the segment.

Would any of the men start crying and hugging each other on camera just because they were going to be in the first-ever fill-in-the-blank match type? Especially right after beating each other up in a match? I don't think so. All of these women, even in-character, can be proud of being in the match, but as others have said, film that backstage or at least stick to hugging your face/heel partners so it makes sense both IC and OOC. Are they fighting one minute and hugging the next because lol women be crazy? Because again, if the men's characters wouldn't do it, the women's characters shouldn't be doing it either.
Treating the women equally on-screen means treating them equally.

Doesn’t justify it as it pertains to preserving a storyline narrative, but still cool. There's a time and a place for everything and this just wasn't it for them. Do a Network Special and tell them backstage for a genuine reaction, don't do it and bury the division and the match in one foul swoop with such a bad and awkward kayfabe break. I think it's a stretch to say it "berries the division". As was stated before, their reaction wasn't that far removed from either the Curtain Call or the Four Horsewomen in NXT. Hell, in a couple of days, the whole roster will be opening RAW by singing a Christmas carol on the entrance ramp. This ain't exactly the era of Dr. Death knocking the sound out of a guys ear to preserve kayfabe. That said, since this is a "depreciation" thread, and we must see the worst in literally everything Stephanie McMahon does, I will acquiesce that the group hand raise at the end was a bit much.

Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't there a 30 women battle Royale or something once and Santino won, one that actually had a lot of older Veterans and formwr Srars with then current divas and it was a huge mess and the live crowd didnt care less, why would a royal Rumble with women work if the crowd that's going to be ready to crap upon it It was a 24 diva + Santino Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 25 that lasted 8 min and the sole purpose was to get Santino crossdressing gimmick over. All the women came to the ring at once while Kid Rock perform. No one, not even announcers, knew who was in the match. Also the "Legend" they had in the match beside Molly Holly and Victoria were Sunny, Torrie Wilson, Joy Giovanni (in her first WWE match), anr Jackie Gayda. Trish and Lita turn down being in the match because they knew it was going to be a joke. The only difference between this and the up coming Royal Rumble is that WWE actually give a shit about the upcoming match and it might be good. But then again this is the same company that wanted to give James Ellsworth a transgender gimmick and a women title match at wrestlemania only a couple months ago so who knows, this might be very good or very bad.

. Stephanie puts over Fabuous Moolah, f***ing hell. I yelled out "You stupid idiot! Moolah ruined countless careers and was a ruthless tyrant!" I agree with others as this was only a moment for Stephanie to verbally fellate herself about all of the "wonderful" things she's supposedly done.

Treating the women equally on-screen means treating them equally. Braun Strowman, Kane, Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, and Jason Jordan have a pull a part brawl then Kurt Angle comes out and announces that they will be in an 8-Man Battle Royal with Brock Lesnar for the title. They all stop fight and start crying and hugging each other. Then they raise each other's hands as Raw fades to black while Cole screams how monumental this is. Sounds about right.

Sometimes I worry my intense dislike for years now of Stephanie being on TV is some internalize misogyny, but I honestly had no issue with Vickie Guerrero as an authority figure with my only complaint being around the time that she left she had gotten kind of long in the tooth in that role.
But Stephanie is simply insufferable, she's not a good performer, she rarely ever gets comeuppance, and her storyline involvement revolves around her dominating everyone.

I disagree on her not being a good performer. Much like Vince, she's superb in her role as the evil boss, and has great instincts when it comes to working crowds. Where she falls down is that, unlike Vince, she simply cannot bring herself to show her ass and get her comeuppance more than once every year or two.

She does this thing where she likes to ad-lib during promps only it's almost under her breath and it really doesn't work. She's comfortable in front a crowd, I'll give her that, but her performances are usually over the top.

The Rousey/Steph showdown is going to be OUT OF THIS FLIPPIN WORLD.
Cuz we all know that's the main point of this women's rumble.

Jericho being a true professional and refusing to LOL at those air jabs is the only explanation there. If his punches do hurt like hell it's got to only be the 1 out of 3 that looks even close to touching his opponent.

I think it is because Shane doesn't do weak punches, but he purposely misses then insteadof just slowing down/stopping

All I have to add to this is Alexa Bliss calling this segment "Moment of the Year" definitely made me hate her more, but not in a "Oh what a good heel" sense, because she was being GENUINE about it. Just continuing to shit on Kayfabe by doing so.
Like why is the delusional cowardly heel praising Stephanie McMahon for basically making a match to ensure someone crazy strong is going to face her?? See this is why this segment is so ass, especially when they keep referencing it like they think they're the greatest thing ever for doing it.

It's pretty sad when the Women are booked so terribly you can't tell what's in gimmick and what isn't.
