I bet Steph wishes time machines existed so she could replace Susan B. Anthony. I'd rather have her replace Joan of Arc. I want to see her replace Queen Marie Antoniette

I hate how wwe jerks themselves off about their women's division. They should of been treated this years ago they have no reason to be proud of themselves. Its like if your stole £50 then celebrating the fact you gave it back eventually. You havnt done anything that's good just what's right now shut up and let me enjoy watching these women do what they do best.

To be fair to the hugging and crying bullshit, none of Paige’s crew hugged anyone besides each other and only Nia and Alexa did any actual hugging. They still need to knock that shit off if they want people to invest in any story they’re trying to tell though. This makes me feel a bit better and this should have been mentioned upfront. The comments made it seem like Paige went over to Sasha and hugged her. Kinda disingenuous. It's still bad but not as horrific as I thought reading the comments.

Ideally if they took the division seriously those two wouldn't have been wrestling in the first place

See, s*** like this is why I don't even bother staying awake for Raw. They take a legitimately historic event and Steph it all up. And the Moolah thing is actually part of the underlying problem with Steph. Stephanie McMahon is presented as the foundation for the women's revolution, despite doing absolutely nothing. And Moolah is a legend despite being a horrible human being. All they're doing is rewriting history on the fly. They can do this because their fanbase turns over every few years. By 2025, WWE will be bragging about Steph being as legendary as Moolah, and it won't even be ironic. (And Chyna STILL won't be in the HoF.)

I don't watch Raw and SD week to week anymore, so I saw this picture for the first time on some of the women's instagram pages. This immediately put me off from wanting to ever get back to watching the show. This is dumb and the first thing I thought about was how this completely cut the legs off of whatever story they were trying to tell with Paige's new group. WWE can't write compelling television, so they try to stick to these 'moments' to hook people, but even their moments are boring and generic. I really wish there was some sort of story to pull me back in as a viewer, but they never seem to find one.

All this Steph talk has made me realise that there's a good chance she'll be in the match.

Clarification to anyone who doesn't get it: THIS IS THE DEPRECIATION FOR HOW THE MATCH WAS ANNOUNCED AND HANDLED, NOT FOR HOW THE MATCH COULD ACTUALLY BE ITSELF. Unless you don't want to see the match either, then fair enough. Stephanie comes out and all the feuding stops dead for all the women just to aimlessly stand in the ring. Stephanie puts over Fabuous Moolah, f***ing hell. Stephanie shoves in HISTORY about as many times as you can count. "Is there was any time for a YES Chant it's now!", won't let Daniel Bryan compete but you'll steal his chant for your own vapid shit! After the match is announced all the Women who were just fighting and feuding cry and start hugging, if anything says WOMENS REVOLUTION it's just forgetting about Kayfabe for this shit and the feud they've been cramming down out mouths for a month. Not excited for this match, even less so after that, that was effing HORRID. Didn't bother me. Steph's the female authority figure, so it's only natural she'd make the announcement. As for the ladies reaction rather than brawling, Kayfabe has been dead for years, did you really expect different?

They could have just announced it instead of making them all "break character" and hug like its been the goal of women for all time to compete in a Rumble match. More forcefed crap from WWE. yeah could have been better if, when steph's music came out, the faces toss the heels out of the ring (or they escape) so faces in the ring, heels outside and absolution in their own side. steph comes out and says " enough of this! you all want to fight like this so badly? well you can do it at the first ever women's royal rumble!" but the principal has to show the kids who's in charge I guess.

I cant beleive some dans elsewhere want Kelly kell, lita (with her bad neck, right) , kaitlin , Brie (isnt she pregnant, duh!) or ashley to return, they with ring rust trying to wrestle todays wwe girls??? Brie Bella had her baby months ago. I think people drastically undersell how over Kelly’s kelly was. Lita had a few nostalgia matches since her retirement. Plus 10 years is a long time to have things fixed and heal. Kaitlyn was fun and has a lot of goodwill from. Being friends with AJ and being one of the few entertaining Wwe built Divas.

Three things. I hate Stephanie McMahon with all the fibre of my being. Women’s rumble, fair enough, but Jesus do it the raw before the rumble, 2 rumble matches in a night will take the shine off what is the best Ppv of the year. All op’s point are on point. What a horrible way to announce this.

That's the problem. In the absence of kayfabe, wrestling is meaningless. In terms of real emotion, they probably all were legit overjoyed, ya can't manufacture that. But they are supposed to be portraying enemies who compete with each other over titles and personal conflicts. It makes no sense for them to be overjoyed and celebrating together, much less with a woman who has consistently been portrayed as an abusive heel.
