There's no benefit to it not being real from any sort of booking standpoint. People are too quick to look for works where there are none. Yeah seriously. Theres no story here. They lie about Paige having to retire....for what? She's a heel and in a story already. Theres no reason for this to be a work.

Terrible news, especially after she overcame the past year of chaotic events.
I hope she'll be able to adjust to a non-wrestling role smoothly.

She might be only 25 but keep in mind that she debuted when she was 13 and probably started bumping earlier than that. It's sad. It's another proof that wrestling is a ruthless business. The human body is not supposed to take bumps. Actually Paige once said she took her first bump before she was even born. Her mom wrestled while pregnant with her and didn't even know she was pregnant. And King says it about 4 times a match in the 2K series when I play as her.

That's a damn shame. She gets her life in order, has the big comeback from her previous injuries, and now it's all gone. And as often seems to be the case with injuries, it's from a simple move and bump that she'd have already taken thousands of times. Hell, Bayley did that exact same spot to her the previous night and it was fine.
Hopefully Banks doesn't feel too guilty about this. Yes, she's the one responsible, but it's the nature of the game that it could have been anyone else at any time with any other move, especially with Paige having so much wear and tear already.

PWInsider are arguably the most reliable site out there. They don't print bullshit, especially in a case like this. They reported 2 weeks ago she was pulled from the Rumble because of this injury but was going to stay on TV because were expecting to move forward after it. The same can easily apply to this, we don't know when she was told (that means time) and they could have already done the pre-tape with no time to re-write the show. Also, let's not forget how quickly these things develop. It took less than 24 hours for Edge to have his last match, present symptoms, be diagnosed, and make plans to retire. He was presenting symptoms before his 'mania match. His match was first so they could fly him out of there early and get checked out.

Sucks she can't wrestle but honestly being the female/British Corey Graves doing commentary alongside Nigel and Mauro on NXT sounds phenomenal.

Well, shit. She just starts getting it all back together, and this happens. I hope she has a good support network so she doesn't end up spiralling or going back to her scumbag ex for comfort. What’s Enzo up to?

That's a damn shame, and at a young age too. Hope she can find something to do in or outside WWE that's not in ring work. That sucks.

At 25 years old. I can't even imagine being told this at such a young age.

At 25 years old. I can't even imagine being told this at such a young age. It wasn't any easier for me to hear it at 37. And through no fault of my own. After a kidney stone, I found out that both of my kidneys are on the right side (one on top and one on the bottom, as opposed to left and right), which means NO HIGH IMPACT PHYSICAL ACTIVITY of any kind. I'm allowed to do yoga and ride a bike and that's about it.

Such a shame. I've never been a big fan of Paige's, but since her return she's had such an enthusiasm and I've really enjoyed having her back, which I didn't think I would. For her to go through all she did the past year or so (her injury/surgery, her tumultuous relationship with Alberto and the leaks) to have her big return end so quickly is so sad.
It'll be interesting to see where they go from here. Ideally they should keep her around as a manager for Absolution: she can continue to perform and Mandy and Sonya will benefit from having her around. But if she's done for good I would hope WWE would give her a chance to address the fans, but if they do, any connection with a heel group would go down the drain.

Maybe she had a point with the time off and the surgery WWE apparently didn’t think was necessary then?

Paige can make a bigger impact on the business outside of the ring than inside the ring. She can be commentator, she can be manager, she can be Authority figure, she can work behind the scenes, there's so much she can do with the company that doesn't involve her body getting beaten and bruised so I look forward to what she does next. Graves, that man had a future in the ring but what he's done as commentator eclipses that. He's in a great spot and I feel that Paige with her looks, mic skills and persona can do the same. I wish it didn't come to this for her as I wish she'd taken a different route besides this but with that said I'm glad her health will be safer with less bumps and bruises.
I approve of Paige being GM. Perfect replacement if Bryan or Angle decide to leave and it also puts more focus on the women.

who is going to take Paige's place in absolution now? will they turn one of the face women heel? will a smackdown women's superstar get traded to raw? or will WWE think outside the box?

Sasha probably given there's nothing else for Sasha to do right now and yet she's still liked enough that they'd give her a good spot. It's a good way to turn her heel too and they can also use Paige's injury as a "and I retired Paige I'm a heel" thing. It's some shit but I expect em to do it.

Here’s hoping that she finds a role outside the ring for WWE where she can make good money and still be around wrestling. Very disappointed for her, devastating news to hear that you have to give up your career so early in life.
