who is going to take Paige's place in absolution now? will they turn one of the face women heel? will a smackdown women's superstar get traded to raw? or will WWE think outside the box? "It's Batley, she's the third woman!" "Huggamania is dead" ...what? YOU think of a good way to rescue Bayley's career except a heel turn

Aw, man this sucks on so many levels. I'll never get to see the badass PTO ever again She'll always be featured in the video games. Edge has been ever since he retired and even before that. I still think we should wait for a statement from Paige, but if it happens, so be it. No sense hoping too hard and being crushed later.

Edge never released a statement before he went into the ring that night to announce his retirement. Wait until Monday when Paige does the same.

I am not trying to rip the poor girl to shreds, I am actually a bigger fan of hers than Paige, but that PWI report makes Sasha Banks sound bad. You have to know kicking your opponent hard as shit in the upper back, when they are fresh off major neck surgery, is a bad idea.
I know Paige was hanging on by a thread, but a big part of me misses when wrestlers would work around that, instead of this “high spot or bust” mentality.
If this has already been talked about I am sorry to bring it back up. If I am missing something, sorry about that too. But, it just seems like the wrestling business just isn’t safe in ring now. The way WWE workers drop like flies directly correlates to the change in inring style. It kind of takes the art of it away for me.

Yeah, for me the article does kind of paint Sasha as being at least partly responsible, and I know she takes a lot of flack for being careless, but with there being so many new female wrestlers that are coming in that can fill her spot, they may start feeling like with all the accusations about her that the “Where there’s smoke there’s fire” mentality may convince them it’s better to release her than risking more injuries for the talents sake, as well as her own. They don’t want the PR nightmare of more concussion injuries

My heart breaks for Paige. It's terribly said for such a promising wrestler to have their career ended at such a young age.
I keep seeing these articles that say "Paige has been wrestling since she was thirteen years old" to which I reply... "THAT IS A TERRIBLE GODDAMN THING TO DO!" I like Paige. I liked watching her wrestle. Her (now, sadly, brief) WWE career was great. But every time I see that "been wrestling since she was thirteen" thing, I cringe. Pro wrestling chews up and spits out adults with alarming regularity. Don't put that on a kid in junior high school.
Hopefully, with wrestling pretty much off the table, she can make a go at a different career.

It’s a move that should be banned from behind. This was pretty much the same drop kick that broke Perro’s neck leading to his death. Not blaming Either Banks or Rey but I think in this case the move can be hard to control/brace for and can whiplash the neck severely. Plus it doesn’t look impressive so no one would miss it anyway.

Very sad news. Hopefully she'll be able to continue in a manager role. She still has a long career ahead of her.

Not terribly surprised, she had little to no control of her body in that clip where the latest injury happened.
I’m not much of a Paige fan and don’t really see what she would offer in a non-wrestling role, but it sucks when someone’s career ends at such a young age. On the bright side though at least she should still be able to live a normal/healthy life. Hopefully she finds a new passion and chases it.

Meltzer is confirming the PWInsider report: So this is pretty much a shut and closed case as far as WWE not allowing her in the ring as active competitor anymore with that

They don’t want the PR nightmare of more concussion injuries WWE has a lot invested in Sasha, though. She's at the centre of a lot of their ads (her and Alexa), has plenty of merch, and gets generally strong booking.

This is just my opinion mind you so please don't attack me, but I wouldn't trust Meltzer on this. If she was really finished, I'd like to think she would've told her fans via social media thank you or something to prepare us for the farewell, if there is one, but this to me indicates Paige won't retire quietly.

I guess the question is, why not trust Meltzer on an issue such as this? He has a pretty good record talking about the medical stuff with wrestlers.

You know, more than likely, she's probably in a place of, "Holy shit, this thing I've been doing my entire life is over and I'm only 25 and only just got back to it, what the hell am I going to do now?" Twitter is likely the furthest thing from her mind in the face of it.
