I think more of the booing is about being edgy smarks than it is about Cena being unpopular these days. I will definitely miss Cena. I don't even think it is about being edgy smarks much any more. It has become a part of the charm of the character, for a lack of a better way to say. It's like chanting "You suck" at Kurt Angle, it's just what you do when Cena's there. Now that is not to say there aren't portions of the audience that still want him gone, this thread being evidence of that, just it has gotten to be a smaller portion of the crowd for a variety of reasons.

Nope. Not in the slightest. He can get gone and stay gone.

I would. He's one of the last few guys around from when I started watching wrestling religiously(somewhere around mid to late 2003).

No, there's plenty more he can do if he's healthy. Whatever he has left to contribute depends on how his body and how committed he is to keeping his in-ring career going. His current run where he's still a main event threat but no longer the unbeatable top guy isn't too far removed from what Hiroshi Tanahashi is doing right now while Okada is the New Japan ace. It is crazy how their careers correlate with each other. Granted, Tanahashi is still seen as more of a hero, despite having mixed reactions for a good portion of his career at top. Considering Tanahashi not only kept New Japan alive, but led them into a position where their current popularity was even a possibility. Whereas business slowly declined under Cena. But I would still love to see those lock up somewhere, hopefully Japan somehow. The idea that business declined because of Cena's push is patently false.

Charm? I don't do the sing-along chants against Cena. I just cheer him like I'm a ten year old dweeb. I don't care how lame I look.

Business has slowly been declining since 2001. I'm not blaming Cena's push, it's the WWE as a whole.

I mean it is easy to say Cena carried when he was top seller for a long time. But it is not like his push didn't have harming side-effects

Yeah, while there are people that only say one side or the other. it is absolutely part of "What you do" for John Cena. A large number of people chant both halves of it.

I'll miss the big matches, because stuff like the AJ one proved he can work when he actually WANTS to

But it is not like his push didn't have harming side-effects I agree, I could see both sides. I've met former fans who were Attitude Era fans that said Cena pushed them away, although the product as a whole didn't help. At the same time, he has been a top draw for the company and a merch mover.

I have liked Cena. I have disliked Cena. With that said, I would miss him. He is a big staple on the product. Like Tom Brady is with the Patriots. He is the first person I first followed when I started to watch a decade ago. It’s weird to see him part time. I feel like the RAW lacks a main character vibe that Cena presented.

I will. I don't blame him that much for the burials of others. It's Vince's fault. If the boss likes you and wants to push you to the moon, you go with it. You take advantage of the situation and make your money. I'd have done the same in Cena's position.
