On the topic of Wonder Woman TV series, I did pose this question that is somewhat related to the movie:

Do these people forget there's been solo animated movies with Diana? Movies yes, a series no. I've only seen the first of the two and I did like it and was annoyed it didn't get a proper continuation (even so far as to make for a while all DC animated movies either be Superman, Batman or Justice League titles IIRC). Might have to check out the second as it does use a different set of villains rather than Cheetah or Ares.

I've been wanting to watch those again. It's been so long. How do they hold up? This is only my opinion, but as somebody who rewatched the series a few years back, not good. The 40's episodes are fun in a cheesy way, but the 70's ones are very 70's. If you're into 70's-style storytelling then you might enjoy them. I'm not and I didn't. Basically, yes, it's a 70s action show. If you didn't like that Incredible Hulk didn't use any comic book villains, you won't like it here too. I'm in the first season, and it's usually just WW vs. Nazi soldiers/spies. It is a trip to see who the guest stars are on each episode. (I am still knocked out that Themyscira was populated by Cloris Leachman AND Fannie Flagg in the premiere episode)

Also, that fight scene with Stella Stevens was hardcore.

Mid credits scene reveals that {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}The golden eagle armour was originally worn by the Amazonian Asteria...played by Lynda Carter I accidentally read that a little while ago. It’s just touches like that that show the love the Wonder Woman movies have for the source material and her history in media.

Movie goes up in just under three hours.
Just turned on the original while waiting for it, been meaning to rewatch it for awhile and might as well do it now while waiting.

My opinion of this 2 hour 31 minute movie, and that applies to any movie with this run time or higher.
Thank goodness for HBO Max, I can watch it in secession.

Well, I wanted to watch this right at noon, but my Internet went out and only just came back on so guess starting it 15 minutes late.

I really enjoyed that. Fandom's been kind of rough for me in a lot of ways the last couple of months, but that movie left me feeling... better about things, somehow.

Just finished the movie, super enjoyed it. Climax is kind of hokey, but not in a way I really mind and there's a lot to love about the movie as a whole. {Spoiler}I really love how they handle the resolution to the Cheetah fight. I'm so used to movies like this killing off villains for little reason, so having Diana hesitate to take a lethal option and then after she's incapacitated immediately successfully saving her from it is a great change of pace. Think the highlight of the movie is probably the first adult Diana scene. Just very well put together, that whole sequence, and it's the kind of classic superheroics you never really see in movies.

Well the villain I would say {Spoiler}Didn't he learn nothing from Jafar, but this takes in 1984 8 years before Aladdin, so he gets a pass. But yeah the villain is pretty much Jafar at the end of the movie, and in Return of the Jafar.

It was a huge step down from the first movie, but it still wasn't bad.

It was fun to watch but the quantity and magnitude of the logical errors were incredibly distracting.
